Lacazette is a very exciting young talent that we have. I doubt he will get any game time however most lyon fans are screaming for Puel to give him more. He seems to favour Pied for some reason. If we need a goal and he comes on he will give your full backs are hard time no doubt about that.

This is the team i expect from us

    Lloris
    Gassama Cris Lovren Cissokho
    Gourcuff Toulalan Kallstrom
    Delgado Lisandro
    Gomis

I'm predicing a lyon win in extra time :D:D

The Bernabeu has really come alive since Mourinho took over. I've been really impressed with the Ultras and the crowd this season. I think their voices will be very important in creating a intimidating atmosphere for Lyon, and driving our players forward.

May the Bernabeu will Los Blancos to victory! :D

I am personally wary of starting Benz and CR. I would rather we start Ade with either Benz or CR (preference being for Benz), with the other coming on as a sub if needed. While Ade might not be scoring the goals, his presence in the box helps keeps the defence honest, while is hold up play helps us keep the ball. With CR and Benz starting, we often have a lot of the ball outside the box but are usually less potent with it.

Without Cris, the Lyon defense should be more vulnerable.

In midfield, I would take Khedira over Lass.

I know this is not going to happen but I would love to see this formation for the lyon match. last year they crowded the midfield with 5 players and effectively cut our supply. I would love to see a more steady Arbs on the LB and play marcelo on the midfield.

If Ozil goes missing in the big match, Bring in angel with his tricks and speed. If we have already secured a lead, Beef up the DM with Lass.

Ade can come in as a sub as well.

 I'd have Granero for Khedira, playing on the opposite side of Marcelo around Xabi.

That was our 1st Classico formation last season, except with Lass & Marcelo partnering Xabi and Kaka playing the in behind.

My prediction is that Lyon is gonna play like the first leg, they are gonna defend and defend and hope that we make a mistake and hit us on the counter or through a set piece.

It's gonna be 4-2-3-1 vs 4-2-3-1 and its not going to be pretty. Unless, they do something radical and go for a 4-3-3 and revert to 4-2-3-1.

The other thing is, if it's me, i would tell our team to make intelligent fouls that wouldn't let them get near our goal. At the end of the day, we have the advantage, why let them anywhere near our goal?

Like the return Sevilla game in CDR, we are gonna have to play a smart game. I just hope this time we bury all our chances and dont give them time to breath and get confident.

Edit: I hope we dont put all our chips into one half and look burnt in the second.

I just hope Mourinho/the players have figured out a way to play well offensively when Lyon inevitably tries to mark Xabi out of the game. We know it's gonna happen, and when Xabi gets marked out of the game, it's usually ugly for us.

    I hope we have a plan B for that.

I hope we qualify, be it with an ugly game. The rest of the technicalities and details, the journalists and monocle and tophat dressers can deal with. [IMG]

Of course, I don't care if we play the ugliest game of football ever, as long we qualify for the next round.

My concern is that if they suffocate Xabi, there's a good chance that we won't, unless we can keep them from scoring, which I feel is unlikely. We always seem to let up goals in this competition (in recent years), especially in this round.

Hopefully that will all change tomorrow, though. :D

    Casillas

    Ramos --- Pepe --- Carvalho --- Marcelo

    Khedira --- Xabi

    DiMaria --- Ozil --- Ronaldo

    Benz
This I think is the most likely lineup unless Ronaldo is not risked then Ade goes in and Benz moves to the left. I would like to see Mou go with this now. If this is our best starting eleven then play that. Maybe Lass for Khedira or Arbeloa gets the start. I see no reason why this team cannot matchup with Lyon the way it is though. This is why making regular changes and experimenting is useful because this is the only lineup available that has been used and an argument can be made for. I wouldn't count out Kaka as far as getting some minutes in this game if Lyon were to go up I think Mou is savy enough to throw him out there as either savior or martyr. I would even consider giving him the first 45 minutes with my eye on an early substitution for any of DiMaria, Ronaldo, Ade, Ozil, Khedira, Lass, et cetera depending on the scoreline and how the team is responding. Kaka is one player that as poor or injured as he's been I have full faith can muster that moment of brilliance that changes the outcome of the game. Hopefully Mou has something up his sleeve that can turn things in the teams favor from the first whistle but with Benz hot and Ronaldo coming off two weeks rest I see no need for big changes.

Reveillere is available so no way Gassama starts instead of him. That would be a disaster!

I also think Lisandro might start up top with Briand and Delgado on the wings.

Interesting line up, I'd like to see it implemented but i doubt we'll try it for this game.

Not yet. But he did travel to madrid and I expect him to be a game time decision.

Even if he plays, he should be far from 100% fit and if he cant keep up might force Lyon into an early sub.

If he is missing then that is a big chunk out of there defense right there. Even a unfit Cris is bad for them.

Mourinho says Lyon needed to win because we have the aggregate, we'll play very defensive for the 0-0 and that Casillas will need to make a lot of saves.

If you ask me I think he's playing mind games. In hope Lyon come out guns a blazing so we can destroy them with the open space and with our counters.

One thing for certain is they can't come to the Bernabeu and bunker, they have to go for it.
