So what was the attendance vs BK Hacken? someone wrote it was 6,000 or did they add one zero too much.

I think we already know the answer to that one.

see my reply to your post on the Mob site about it?

Since Orlando is too lazy to get stock photos of the team in their new colors, they are re-using imagery of the players in the Austin colors.

Classless, imo. And really shouldn't still be necessary, specially considering there has been plenty of opportunity to get some good action shots to use for publicity now that the team has played a few games.

Where did you read that? Considering the WWOS complex doesn't have a field with 6,000 seats that would be hard to imagine. I haven't been to any of the matches there so I have no idea what the crowds were like.

Notice what website you just visited? www.uslsoccer.com

Notice what website you didn't visit? www.orlandocitysoccer.com

The communication's people with Orlando City can feel free to correct me here, but I strongly doubt they have any role in maintaining or updating the USL's official website.

Does that make the USL look bad? Yes it does, makes me wonder if they approached the team about getting new photos or if the team approached them with new photos; but either way USL needs to fix that or the team needs to get on them to fix it, especially now that they have their new sponsor announced and on the jerseys.

Thanks for saving me the typing.

The games against Toronto, etc. didn't sell out (what was it like 1,500?) at the WWOS so ... I imagine attendance was closer to 600 than 6,000... unless there's some unknown large Swedish population in central florida I wasn't aware of.

For Orlando - maybe that message machine that doubles as their PR person can make a copy for them ? Do they even have an office ?

Also their PR person is not only a real person, but a member of BigSoccer. They can see you.

He also does a great job keeping the facebook page updated, and has always been helpful and fast to respond whenever I have had a question or concern regarding the team.

    That'd be me :)

Also, Disney does not provide us with official attendance numbers for matches there as anyone at the WWoS complex is able to come up and catch part of the game if they choose. Part of what hurt the attendance at the Hacken match was all of the other ESPN the Weekend events taking place around Disney that weekend that featured NFL and MLB stars.

A drop of 10-15 degrees plus wind and possible rain didn't help either, but there was still a good-sized crowd that was very vocal, including a group of Swedes doing chants in Swedish.

Can anyone translate this for me? I can't make it Wednesday so how do I get "rewarded" with future tickets for home games?

    Hey Season Ticket Holders,

Hope all is well. I wanted to inform you that the second game of your Season Ticket Package will be the Rollins College game @ Rollins College on Wednesday, March 16 @ 7PM. This will be a great chance to see our team show off their skills before the regular season starts. Additional tickets are at $8 per person. I know this is on short notice, so for anyone who cannot make the game, you will be rewarded with future tickets to bring friends for another Orlando City home game of your choice at the Citrus Bowl. The tickets will be mailed out tomorrow. If for some reason you do not receive your tickets for the game on the 16th, we will have a list with each season ticketholder’s name so that no one misses out. I also wanted to let you know that the rest of your tickets should be mailed out by the week of March 21st. Thank you again for being part of Orlando City. We appreciate your devotion and support. Have a great day and I look forward to hearing from all of you soon.

    Sincerely,

    John Cochol
    Director of Ticket Sales

It means they struck a last-second deal to get season ticket holders into the Rollins game for free. You MIGHT get your tickets in time, and in case you don't, they will have a list for the Rollins ticket booth.

Re: Orlando SC News thread 2011: "Indoor-soccer center planned for former fitness club in Orlando"

Looks like a great place for OC to have a presence and establish some kind of home-town-side relationship with the facility and its bar.

    In today's Orlando Sentinel:

"Indoor-soccer center planned for former fitness club in Orlando"

Indoor soccer could soon have a cool, new home in Orlando.

XL Soccer World plans to open the region's first air-conditioned indoor-soccer center in July, once workers complete a $1.3 million remodeling of the former Orlando Fitness & Racquet Club on Courtland Street, just west and south of the Interstate 4 and Lee Road intersection.

    Fascinating. *people's eyebrow*

Perhaps a step toward an I-League team?

It didn't sound like it. Or at least, I didn't assume that an indoor soccer park is automatically required to morph into some form of professional league.

It sounds like a place where soccer fans might hang out, especially if there's a restaurant with a gazillion TV's with soccer on nonstop. If so, it'd be great to have our hometown team's crest and colors and jerseys and whatever else around the place.

Does separating it out make it more clear?

    Not really...

questions: how do i get "future tickets" for games? (since I can't make it Wed night). Is the list going to be at the game so you can just provide your name and they let you in? (just curious - since I can't make it anyway)

Call the ticket office, 407-536-5368, about the tickets to future matches.

The list will be at the game. Show ID and you'll be set.

I said "perhaps a step". Get some interest on playing soccer indoors.
