Who: Seattle Sounders vs. LA Galaxy When: 6:30 PM, Tuesday, 3/15 Where: Qwest Field, Seattle, WA Watch: ESPN, ESPN Deportes Listen: KIRO 97.3 Internet: atdhenet.tv, Justin TV, Channel Surfing, Veetle Alright!! We're on like Donkey Kong, y'all! It's go time!! Etc. etc. The regular season is about to start and I think everyone is really excited, so let's see some love for the team everyone. Heh.. But before we start the love, time for a little bit of dissing. Most of the pre-season was quite troubling for the Sounders with the "Big Four", Montero, Nkufo, Zakuani, and Fernandez, failing to score away from the PK spot, outside of the beat down against a college team, until Montero's beauties in the Community Shield. Add into that questions about Keller giving up a soft goal in the Portland game and Boss being completely useless in the Vancouver game, and you've got a team in trouble heading into the regular season. The good side is that performance in pre-season rarely mirrors the performance in the regular season, so who knows, the Sounders could steam roll through the regular season and score 3 points a game. On to the Galaxy.. Errr.. I've got nothing. I haven't followed them at all in the off-season, so if a Galaxy fan happens to read this and wants to give us a recap of how things went in your pre-season.. On paper they look pretty good. They've got most of their team returning, but they lost their #1 goal scorer in Buddle, but replaced him with Juan Pablo Angel who has scored at least 12 goals every season he played in MLS, but is aging. They've still got Donovan and, despite interest in playing in Europe again, Beckham so they should be potent on offense. They've still got Ricketts and Gonzalez on the defensive end, so, yet again, expect them to be hard to score on... Injury Report: @#$%^# MLS soccer soccer dot dot com com doesn't have it up yet. What we do know is that Evans and Zakuani both went down in the Rapids game. Evans sounds like he is recovering quite well and may be available for Tuesday's game, much to the chagrine of some, while Zakuani sounds like a more serious injury and is more likey to miss the game than Evans is.
Yoshou's guaranteed to be wrong predicted line-up, even though lately it has been accurate, but will still be continued to be called the guaranteed to be wrong predicted line-up to cover Yoshou's ass: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Nkufo, Montero, Evans, Friberg, Alonso, Fernandez, Gonzalez, Hurtado, Parke, Riley, Keller[/LINEUP-4-4-2] As you can see, I've got Evans out on the left based on the comment by Sigi. However, Tetteh is also a possibility, or Montano if they ever get around to signing him. Fernandez could play out on the left, but we'd still need a RW and with Mauro unsigned so far, do we have anyone that could play out on the right?

Sounders will be taking donation for the red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund at Tuesday's game. http://www.soundersfc.com/News/Articles/2011/03-March/Red-Cross-for-Japan.aspx
Wow. SJ who doesn't have nearly the deep pockets of Seattle is donating a $1 for everyone who goes to the first game. Disappointed the club isn't stepping up and instead will take credit for its more generous fanbase.
But if SJ can donate $10,000, imagine what the Sounders could do? Every little bit helps and it just makes me incredibly sad that the Sounders level of involvement basically amounts to allowing others to volunteer their time and money.
Yea, i'm sure Carey and or Roth are probably making private donations. Just because it's not in the news, doesn't mean they ain't. Some things you don't do for publicity. As for our midfield, I could see Roger being plugged in there if need be. Maybe Estrada. I think both would be better on the wing than Evans. I'm not an Evans hater, just feel he's one of those guys who plays his position great, but if you put him in any other spot, he struggles.
Levesque or Noonan can play on the right. I've actually been impressed with Noonan so far. He looks WAY better after his surgery. Also, if Sigi goes with Evans on the left I don't think that's necessarily a negative.
I like Noonan and think he's got a role to play, but Friberg looked to be a monster. He's gotta be 12 on the depth chart right now if not pushing into the top 11.
For those interested in such things, there will be a 3 hr. preseason special on the Sounders at 7:00 pm on FSN. I been informed it might be a replay of Adidas infomercial/Community shield.
I just tuned in and it's showing the Colorado community shield game. Quotes just out in the Times from Sigi, Riley, Noonan, and Keller on the upcoming game. Common theme from all four is that this is just 1 game out of 34. Fair enough, but I still hope we win. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ht...4489350_sounders_fc_quote_sheet_schmid_2.html
Any score predictions? We tend to not do well w/ the LA Gals here in Seattle while on national television. On paper LA Gals wins this one 1-0 on staunch defending a one decisive counter-attack. In my heart, Seattle blows this away with a Friberg-Montero wonder-pairing that scissors open the LA back line. Sounders 3-LA 0.
I predict that Alonso will end DB's playing career with a studs up tackle, and LA's suicide rate will go up 0.2%.
muscles twitching from trying to restrain myself from knee-jerk reply, trying...not...to...take...the...bait...and...give...this...idiot...the...satisfaction...of...a...reply. ARGHH!!
Don't sweat it. He's here because there are not any cinder fans for him to talk with. None of the hipsters who all of a sudden are claiming to be TA are able to carry on a footy conversation since they're just riding the bandwagon for the moment, until the next "cool" thing grabs their attention, and don't actually know anything about the beautiful game. Then PGE park will be back to it's lame 4k per game attendance it had forever before MLS came calling.
I cannot WAIT to see your inaugural MLS game tifo at Colorado! I'm sure it will be completely mind-blowingly epic, and completely representative of your (re-)entrance into the first division. Why are you even posting on BS, get back to stitching and painting! The world is watching. Y'all are lucky there is no limit on away supporter ticketing in Colorado. We won our MLS opener 3-0, btw, so enjoy paling in comparison to Seattle yet again, while maintaining an air of defiance for some reason...
I'm stoked for the season to begin and can't wait to watch this match tomorrow night. Be loud, Seattle!
Dumb question, but driving up from Lacey. What time will kickoff actually happen? The broadcast is 6:30 to 9:00. Is actual kick-off close to 6:45? Always trying to time that drive from Olympia and correlate it with work.
I would say be in your seats by 6:30. i would get at the stadium by 6pm or close of. 6:30 is pregame stuff.
Leave ASAP. Last year for the Chivas game it literally took me an hour to go from Lacey to the Military bases. If it all possible leave Lacey before 4:30 (preferably before 4). If you're leaving after 5 pm, plan on missing a good part of the first half.
