Good result, and Benzema plays better in a two man frontline, I guess he likes the extra space now that the opposition defenders have Avatar to care about. But Arbeloa won me over with a great performance, I like it when a player who comes up from our youth teams and develops into a starter/ good footballer.
Bingo. Absolute rubbish to think a player would get rusty missing one damn game. He was clearly trying something out. I expect us to either go for the win early then drop into this formation, or start with this formation (to shock Lyon) then bring in a heavy attack later on.
The hopeless footballing romantic in me refuses to believe it is ever necessary. A triple pivot is so unimaginative
You should save some adjectives for the quadruple pivot. Speaking of formations, I dig our current 4-4-2 (or 2-4-2-2 when attacking).
The scared shitless fan in me thinks while unimaginative it may be necessary against top heavy sides.
Good stuff today, we should've scored more, Adebayor was very unlucky today, but he got himself in good positions. Glad the REAL Benzema decided to show up. Is it because he's playing in his more preferred position? If so, should we accommodate him when CR7 returns? Is there any way that you guys suggest we fix this, if this is the case? Casillas did well, and Arbeloa was everywhere, helpful in attack/solid in defense. I'm glad people here are starting to appreciate this kid, I've always been a fan. And I think the criticism of Di Maria was a bit exaggerated, I thought he had a pretty good game. The beautiful ball to Adebayor that hit the post springs to mind. Ozil was terrific as usual, hopefully he can bring that from vs. Lyon.
Okay and if I ask you a legitimate question relevant to the conversation quoting your own words should I still expect a stupid answer. Seriously though please no anti football.
Seriously though, please no pro-stupidity. You have to be a fecking idiot to think somebody desire "anti-football" because they think it'd be smarter to play three midfielders for ball retention away at Camp Nou. So are you?
I don't remember Mou using the triple pivot to start that game and when he did make the change things only got worse with the team conceding three goals in the second half. I would still prefer the team playing the same old 4-5-1 if it means its our best eleven. With ten minutes to go and the team holding on with a one goal lead than sure bring on the 3rd pivot.
I don't understand, how do players get rusty then? Do they get no rust for two weeks, and then all of a sudden are rusty? Or if it is not 2 weeks, then 4 weeks? OR whatever time? No, rustyness in a player slowly builds over time. At least this is my opinion on Mou's thinking. Also, what explains Mou bringing in Alonso and Ozil before the first leg of the Lyon tie? He wanted to try Alson and Ozil on at the same time? Obviously not. This is Mou's idea of getting players into the flow i believe.
So you think those few minutes Alonso got shook the alleged rust off? Give me a break. Minus Khedira, who definitely looked rusty as hell, Mourinho's changes were questionable at best.
