Wasn't it Nick Lowe? I thought he actually recorded it before Elvis did. I swear I remember downloading his version off of Napster back in its glory days, but I could be mistaken.
Dookie was their third CD, this is their 2nd CD: Of which I still have a copy that Billy Joe gave to me back in the day (and I mean way back in the day, when they were playing in garages in South Dakota and his future wife was roommates with one of my friends). And this is their first: I still have a copy of this one lying around somewhere in my parents house somewhere, haven't seen it in a couple years though.
Get the Knack Am with you on Meet the BEatles....by the time it had worked it's way to me (I have an older brother and sister), side one was unplayable. "Don't Bother Me" is still one of my favorite BEatles songs. I usually put early Beatles songs as the last song of a mix cd, because they're all under 3 minutes, and you can usually fit them in.
I just introduced my girlfriend Yezenia to this album, and she loves it. She doesn't normally like rock, but she likes this one.
Oh believe me, I know. But Dookie brought greenday to the masses. I got Kerplunk and smoothed out slap happy hours AFTER i got dookie.
Def Leppard Hysteria Classic Album and one of the biggest selling albums in the world ever part 6 lol
Not my first, but definitely a fav. Just recently revisited it in my CD changer. An essential for sure, along with Low End Theory.
I know this is predictable, but here it is: I've had it since I was 16 (well, in varying formats -- first on vinyl, then cassette, then CD), but I still pop it in every once in awhile.
The southern facing window in my apartment wasn't too kind to my vinyl version of that record, but I still played it anyway. I was happy to find it on super discount in CD format a few years ago.
hmmm..... i'd have to say Pavement's "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain". this badboy will be in the rotation for many many years to come.
Ok, I'm wierd, but I didn't buy a single musical tape, record or CD until my 5th year of college. But I didn't do too badly with my first choice: Do your thing.
