Kaka starting tomorrow? I really like his influence on the team. Between him, Mesut and Alonso we settle into a patient, intelligent passing team. We hold the ball more giving the defense time to rest. Ade also fits better with this group since it is difficult to take the ball away from him. Ronaldo and Di Maria tend to be the champions of catch and run football. In other words we have two different games within our attacking game:

    a. Alonso and Mesut passing game

    b. Ronaldo and Di Maria fast catch and run game

Without Kaka the game gets pulled towards Ronaldo and Di Maria fast game, with Kaka Alonso and Mesut get the upperhand like the first half of seville game. personally i prefer Mesut, Alonso, Kaka's modern passing game but in certain games you also need to exploit the speed of the other crew. The trick though is to figure out what crew gets the green light in taking advantage in our strength. Since there aren't naive teams to play with anymore the passing game needs to be refined with addition of Kaka into the team. This is certainly more relevent if the team falls behind or we play teams like Barca.

Kill the first half, rest the key players in the second. Definatly should start with xabi, we need some midfield flare and creativity.

Kaka & Ozil please. Maybe they can impress again enough to both get a spot against Lyon. :D

There it is since it hasnt been posted yet.

    REAL MADRID SQUAD LIST:
    Goalkeepers: Adan, Dudek, Tomas Mejias
Defenders: Carvalho, Marcelo, Arbeloa, S. Ramos, Albiol, Garay
Midfielders: Khedira, X. Alonso, Lass, Gago, Kaka, Ozil, Di Maria
    Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Adebayor, Benzema

So who do we see start? Adan or Dudek? And I wonder why we didnt appeal Iker's red card.

Where have you been, the squad list is on the first page, and we did appeal Casilla's red card (I think). :p

Come on folks, reading is fundamental. The squad list was posted yesterday and Mourinho confirmed two changes, both in defense. Ramos for Arbeloa and Albiol for Pepe.

Here's the line up according to Marca:

    ----------------Adan----
    --Ramos--Carvalho--Albiol--Marcelo
    -------------Lass--Khedira------------
    ----Di Maria----Kaka----Ronaldo-----
    ---------------Benzema--------

Thank God Xabi and Ozil are not starting. If things don't go well until the first half, we bring Xabi out.

    Park bench
Well that's a step in the right direction squad wise... though pretty awful looking centrocampista wise.:D
Still the same changes but I suppose the same changes are better than no changes.

(AS is reporting the same line-up by the way)

I'd have liked to see Gago get a game.

I disagree, Mourinho is beginning to irk me to no end with these "not really a change at all" rotations.

I really don't get this. Xabi is resting (good thing) and Granero would be perfect to take his place for this game...

Carvalho probably should have gotten a rest. Garay looked sharp and Carvalho hasn't always been the sturdiest of players.

I'm glad to see Benzema getting the start.

As others have said it would have been great to see Granero or Gago in that midfield.

hope Kaka shows some of the flashes of his last game he started....

Benz needs to do a france-like appearance and get busy, at least score once.

cr7 to score as well and get his ketchup flowing for the Lyon match.

Lets go boys, lets do this thing!
