Just got back from the pub. Wow, the place went crazy when RVP then Arshavin scored. As a few have mentioned, you really could see them back off in the second half and we had a lot more time on the ball. I'd say they were a little unfortunate to not be 2-0 up, but we fought back and made them pay for their aggressive tactics.

That said, the way they pressure is absolutely amazing to watch. Across the pitch we have players that are very comfortable on the ball and they made us look like a mid-table kick and rush squad. Between their high pressure defense and that diagonal ball to Alves we were on the back foot for a lot of the match.

Decent game all around. Low points: Song was a little too aggressive with Messi; Clichy and Nasri let too much attack come down their side; the Villa-Messi-Xavi trio killed the high line we were playing; and Clichy was stupid to play Villa onside.

High points: Clichy's pass to RVP; RVP's smash; Arshavin's finish--first time WOW! we looked pretty good on the counter attack; Schnezy looked good; Jack was a beast; and our CB's dominated the air.

Let's build on this. And to that lame Barca punk who was posting here the other day, feck of you cunner!

Yeah no shit. Really there wasn't much to choose from between the teams. We coulda won it, they coulda won it, but at no time did it ever look like we were going to get turned over like last year. I wouldn't have been too upset if it finished 1-0. Then we came back and it was all the sweeter.

F-him. The time to be "manly" was before he started being an ass.

were you at lucky? If so, the place indeed erupted - especially after Arshavin's goal. The bartenders looked genuinely frightened. haha.

I don't care what the next kit looks like, I'm putting Wilshere on the back. What a brilliant performance. He makes me more comfortable with the eventual departure of Cesc. I'll be buzzing about this win for a while. God it feels good to be a gooner!!!!

the difference was that we could keep the ball, whereas many teams dont or just give up trying...

their was so much fight from the guys tonight, incredible

    tie is not over yet

Graeme Souness made a good point on Al Jazeera's coverage... the second half we adjusted how we defended... were a lot more aggressive with our line, especially Kos... instead of staying high but not pressing our defenders, Kos and Djourou attacked Xavi and Iniesta and Messi when they got on the ball... a dangerous gameplan, but it worked that match

Ya, it played very similar to last year. The difference was between luck and our defense and no Ibra, they only scored one goal before getting tired.

The second leg has to be a lot different. With any luck it will be if we can keep our squad healthy until then. Last year in the second leg, I think we had Diaby, Denilson and Rosicky in midfield. Simply not good enough.

I have to say, this leaves us with a rather big banana skin for the wk end v Leyton Orient...

Second string will have to step up big time and keep us on track for THREE Wembley finals this season!

What a record that would be, up there with the achievement of The Invincibles
