According to Ives' article today, Parke actually could start alongside Pope in the season opener, instead of Bonseu. Not bad for a guy who was picked last in the draft, huh? Not encouraging is news that Pope was injured in the Haiti match. It's not even April and Pope already seemts to have a long laundry list of ailments. Boy, have times changed when your 19 and 17 year-olds are considered the "veterans" on the squad. http://www.bergen.com/page.php?qstr...lRUV5eTY1MDQ3MjImeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2
How sad would this be considering we gave up Steve Jolley for Bonseau and got a whole bunch of salary space that we may potenially not use this season anyway. Seems like we are $500 k or so under the cap unless we sign a few guys.
How long has Bonseu actually been with the team? Maybe he's not acclimated yet? I know he joined the team late.
My take from the article was that, although Parke is pushing Bonseu, he may start in place of Pope due to Pope's injury.
The Jolley deal is looking worse and worse all the time. Bonseu doesn't get into camp. He takes up an SI spot. And now, he may be replaced in the starting lineup by the last person selected in the draft. I hope this is just Bradley's way of lighting a fire under Bonseu's butt.
doesn't really matter who starts in the first match really...bonseu or parke. same time last year, i remember a certain character named arena was getting some face time, as well as reagan. and both of them, well, *crickets chirping*...
