Re: Orlando kit designs Dear The Orlando City Soccer Club, Please bleeding put some bleeding stuff for bleeding sale on the bleeding "Store" page of your bleeding website. I needs me an OCSC t-shirt, and I needs it bad---even if the fakakte thing is bleeding purple. Kindest regards, Shirtless P.S. Have a nice day. And good luck this season, howay our lions (or some such), and just for good measure, Forza Purple. Or Red. Or Gold. Or Purple-&-Red-&-Gold. Or PRG. Or what-bleeding-ever, just sell me #@&%-ing shirt already.
What in the name of all that is holy and pure is this? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/mnichols/OCSC_Skyline_RED.jpg (wish I knew how to embed a photo, instead of just its link)
I didn't know this thread still existed. Do you like the shirt Rays? There is some debate on the Facebook Page on why the team didn't put the crest on it. I know it's just a t-shirt. The Megastore at Liverpool One is full of variations of the LFC brand. Just wondering. WorldGame always brings me out of hiding.
Not to quibble over semantics, but "another" would imply there was at least one before this one, which can't be possible because I'd be wearing it if there was...unless it was like this thing. Edit: In the interest of not hurting the feelings of anyone there at the OCSC Underground Lair, I don't dislike this red shirt; I mean to say, I don't think it's hideous or anything. It made my eyes bleed a little, but it's not so odd as to cause irreparable emotional carnage. I would've thought that a pro soccer team's first t-shirt might have, maybe, something to do with the sporting nature of the entity it represents, instead of looking like a free Fiesta in the Park souvenir for people who wear white belts to the 4 p.m. Early Bird in Del Boca Vista.
Its funny how the guy who made the biggest deal about the crest, is the one who designed the red shirt without the crest. He is also the creative director at United World Soccer the ones who are selling the shirts.
Sorta makes you wonder: is there a club crest 2.0 somewhere just over the horizon? A slightly reworked version before it's applied to all of the merchandising, that adjusts the lion-with-split-personality motif. Maybe they'd refine it a bit, before it gets deeper into the bloodstream, especially with the Union friendly in two weeks, and the Disney event a week later, and ESPN and the American soccer universe gets a full whiff of OCSC.
Wow, this got out of hand real quick-like didn't it. Here's the story... The t-shirt in question was designed by Enemy Ink, a local t-shirt company. They do some fantastic work, and we're very excited to work with them. They also did shirts for the Titans lacrosse team last year. They also do some work with local bands and Daniel Dennis from the Monsters in the Morning. United World Soccer was presented, by Enemy Ink, not Orlando City, with several designs. From what I understand, the skyline shirt is just the first design you'll see available at the store. There is not a Crest 2.0 in the works. The font you see comes from the monogram logo we unveiled a few months ago. It is a secondary logo, used largely in merchandise. The shirt designer decided to go with it. I hope that clears things up a bit.
Oops, I didn't mean to imply that there is some conspiracy. I shouldn't have said he designed the shirt just that he was associated with the shirt. I thought it was funny because what comes around goes around. Meaning that he didn't like it but now he's stuck working with it.
I miss the old days on the Orlando Threads (by old days, I mean September, October, November, 2010). I call these "The Golden Months" of Orlando City news. Conspiracies, rumors, speculation. "What do we call the supporters"--"Possible Name / Kit ideas"-- These were classic threads. And the BigSoccer Members posting were on top of their game. These recent posts remind me of those glory days. I miss it so.
