Rolfe is under contract, so we'd have 1) Convince Rolfe to bail on Europe after he just returned to being fit 2) pay a transfer fee to his old club 3) Pay him close to league maximum salary 4) (maybe?) have to trade some other MLS club for his rights.
I'm hoping we learn who the other striker is this week. The full schedule will be announced on Thursday, so that would be a great time to link the two announcements. Also, I'm hoping, but not so optimistic, that a new jersey sponsor will be announced within a week or two. 39 days to the opener in Dallas!!!! Go Fire!!!!
Oh yeah, hadn't thought about that one. Do we still have his rights? In thinking about our roster, I'd be looking for versatile players. Someone like Diego Gutierrez was. A guy who you could put in many different positions on the field depending on the need.
I think Chris Rolfe is a National Team pool player, so he would be subject to allocation in all likelihood. We are somewhere between 5th and 7th in that list. In general, the club does not retain the rights to a national team player the league sells overseas. Prozone isn't a player, it is apparently a talent analysis company. http://www.hottimeinoldtown.com/201...n-two-year-contract-with-prozone-four-players
Half of the league will use Prozone in 2011. It'll be interesting to see how the "haves" and "have nots" fair at the end of the season. From what I've read, in addition to providing post-game performance analysis of your own team and individual players, Prozone has a lot of bells and whistles that analyze your opponent's strengths and weaknesses, and referee tendencies. Whether it helps a coaching staff overcome some of its biases, or produces enough evidence to convince management to make some trades remains to be seen. However, I would never underestimate to ability of coaches to play favorites or management to ignore the mountain of evidence sitting in front of them.
If the Fire can string 5 passes together they might have to bring back Kenn T. Pineda to Pappa to Paladini to Pause to Patrick to Puerari.
Adios. He should have been gone long ago. ...but I think I'm just bitter because since he was first picked up I so badly wanted to do a death metal style banner with his name, and he just sucked way too much, overshadowing even the giggle factor in making such a banner for him.
rumor is Hannover is not impressed with DMB and that he's likely to come home after the season. Not saying, just saying.
GK. Jonhson, Conway and (Need 1 More) RB Kinney or Robinson CB KWS, Gibbs, Mikulic, Anibaba* LB Segares and (need a LB) Outside mid- Pappa, Banner, Nyarko, Pineda, Center mid- Pause, Ristic, Bone, Husidic, Paladini, ST Carr, Puerari International player Drafted MID - Salmon (Midfielder) FW - Herrick, Paul, Walker, Arthur, *Onlu Anibaba shows up on the Fire Roster, I assume he is the only draft pick that signed so far. 20 Signed 4 of them international spots (out of 8) 5 Draft picks looking to make the team. Hopefully the 3rd GK will be an Academy signing. Minimum is 28 Correct (Max is 30).
If Carr is a starter we are in BIG BIG trouble. That Midfield looks gawd awful too. The defense looks pretty solid. I imagine that Gibbs will have his head in the game more than Conde and The Croation and or Anibaba couldnt be any worse than Cj was last year. Johnson should be money. I expect to see a lot of 1-0 games if this is our team.
