Gaston Puerari is listed as a 108 overall in Football Manager with 9 goals in 56 games, 3 clubs.

    Unnamed is unlisted.

Scott e Dio93 made himself unwelcome on the Fire boards a few years back with racist remarks.

Based on what I have read Gaston is the lesser known of the two players which is good, because if he was the known one I would have been afraid to see who the other one would have been. With that said I like what I saw in the youtube clips, I know they are highlights but he seems willing to take people on, and seems to have good pace.

Has anyone ever NOT looked good on YouTube? I remember this time last year when lots of people (myself included) were excited by the prospect of Julio Martinez terrorizing MLS based on similar clips.

I have no recollection of any Fire fans thinking Julio Martinez was any good.

Before I saw him play for the Fire I had expectations that he would be a good player for us. He seemed pretty good when playing for El Salvador. Pappa was doing great for us. I thought he could be a player with a similar impact.

There aren't many who score away to mexico, and his goal was awesome.

I am expecting nothing from Gaston honestly. He looked good on youtube, but when you don't even have a wikipedia page, and most of the fields you are playing on seem to have no stands, I'm going to wait and see. If he gets more than 500 minutes I'll be surprised: hopefully in a good way.

Agreed. I thought Julio Martinez was going to be good or at the very least a contributor.

I also have no expectations for Gaston and hope to be pleasantly suprised. That being said, even if Gaston is a sucess this roster still needs some help IMO. Hopefully there are more signings to come. I believe the Fire still have plenty of cap space to work with.

I thought he was a damned sight better than Umanzor and that both he and the Pole got the shaft.

I can't agree with that. I saw Martinez when I went to the US Open Cup game when the Fire lost to the third division team. No player covered himself in glory, but Martinez literally looked like he'd never played a professional game before. He was absolutely awful, and it was apparent he'd never succeed in a league where players would chase to close him down. But hey, the Fire signed a guy from that third division team, so all is good, right? Maybe they're good enough to win whatever third division might exist this year?

I agree with you on Krol. He wasn't great, but he didn't suck. He was better than Umanzor. I can only think that Klopas signed Krol before he signed DLC, and DLC just didn't like him. Which was stupid, and led to the ridiculous instability at left back last year.

Well, they probably didn't anticipate Segares returning, which had to be the biggest factor in Krol leaving. I agree that Krol did quite well in a bad situation, though. DLC did not want to play him if he had other options.

I still don't understand why people hate umanzor other than he is CLDC signing. Sure he isn't great or even good....but he's always been a 2nd or 3rd string LB option and he isn't overpaid. Remember 2009, our 2nd choice LB was MIKE F'in Banner in the 2nd half of the year and he got torched vs NE in the playoffs.
He's better than Mike Banner at LB, he wasn't skilled or physically strong but he was scrappy enough to make do. He wasn't as absolute shit as some other players last year. Like Castillo, Martinez or Dimitrov....god they were terrible, they added nothing and did nothing on the field.
