Carroll flying to Merseyside on private jet that was sent to the North East to collect him by LFC. Deal very much on.

Paul Tompkins also indicating that Carroll requested a transfer and NUFC accepted.

Suarez might be better value, but Carroll has already proven he can score in the Prem - albeit only one half season. And the fee is £35 million. And this is too high but the club has deemed it is better to overspend in Jan, then fail to push on up the table for the rest of this season because the squad is weaker.

I am not saying I agree with going for Carroll, and I think the fee is too high but personally I think we should not be selling Torres until the summer, because the team should not be weakened in Jan.

Looks like both the Torres and Carroll deals will go through....reported that Torres passed his medical and Carroll handed in transfer request. ********ing deadline day is driving me nuts.

If it hits the full 40 value, we'll have won the league, the CL, the FA cup, and he will be winning the Euros.

If we win those, it's worth it.

We're getting money from the owners, and we've got a lot of stuff.

so, club record is over 22 mil... again, the scuttlebut is that the 30+ mil bids and rejections were ashley postuering for the fans and wanted to make it look like he made off like a bandit and carroll forced the move... he made carroll hand in a transfer request...

bear this in mind, even if the 35 is true, we have a net spend in the window of just 1 million...

Then in the Summer time, we'll lay out the cash to get him if we want.

Buying Caroll for 35 Mil Quid and upwards reeks of Desperation and makes the Torres deal to Chelsea look like a steal for them!!!..Take the Money from Chelsea,Let Commoli identify sensible Transfer targets and lets Rebuild in the Summer..We have pressing concerns all over the Pitch...Blowing that Torres Money on Andy Caroll seems like a bad bad idea..Wait for the Summer
    and that Money can get

LFC confirm Newcastle have accepted an offer from us for Carroll- for a club record fee - higher than Suarez' fee.

If Carroll comes, which now seems very possible, I'll take a Carroll - Suarez frontline to eat up most EPL defenses.

Bye bye Torres, how you rot at Chelsea and we pip you for 4th.

Sky is reporting a car has been sent from Melwood for Charlie Adam.

    Then retracted it minutes later.

    Quality news gathering!

Newcastle have publicly accepted they have agreed a fee for Carroll. Note that they turned down an offer from Spurs a day or so ago.

Spurs offered a wad of cash (supposedly 25) and Crouch.

I'm not sure how we're crazy if that's what they were offering.

We're still in on Warnock, Young, and Adam looks to be done.

That enough ambition Fernando? Piss off you rat.

I understand your point. But no-one really knows FSG's planned expenditure in the summer. From all accounts they were planning to do most of their major spending in the summer as it is easier to do so. These moves are just to bolster the squad such that it is not too weakened by the departures of Torres, Babel and Konchesky (don't laugh). I have no doubt that FSG will spend an ambitious amount this summer regardless of what happens today.

Actually, the more people agree with it, the less creative it actually is to keep repeating it over and over.

If you're bored, go read a book. Don't put us all to sleep with your mind-numbingly obvious statements.

Yes. 30+ million is a lot of money. Further news at 11. I'll be waiting with baited breath to hear your next big revelation. Maybe, Andy Carroll isn't as good as Fernando Torres?

Sky is not a good source for breaking news. It reports every rumour before it can check them.
