Never been a big Adebayor fan, but given our situation I see why we got him. Mourinho has done a good job getting results from mercurial players in the past so hopefully he manages to do so with Ade. Now that he's here, I'll obviously be pulling for him.

I'm happy, we now have a prolific third striker that can cover in for Benzema in case of bad form or injury.

I would also like to point out, that now Ronaldo can get some well deserved rest, as Benzema can forth-take the LWF/SS role (which I will is natural to him), while Adebayor can be our target man.

I wish him all the good luck at Madrid, and hope he achieves the titles he could not of had achieved with Arsenal or City.

My friend who is a EPL fan told me his an amazing player (with great ability) who is miserably underrated. So now we shall see how valid this statement is.

Not Ruud but he's a good option to have.

Welcome to the club and be a help not a hinderance.

I'm an Adebayor fanboy, and i liked him as a striker at Arsenal even though Wenger makes me kind of sick. He started well at ManCity. I think he can offer a lot, and will do so, he's very complete as a football player, and if he can click with the team, he'll be a good option for us.

Welcome to your first big club Ade. :D

Don't like his personality but we need a striker for six months and this loan deal sounds like the best we could do at this moment.

I hope this signing also means the ends of Mourinho's crying, he got what he wanted and from reports Adebayor was his first choice even over Ruud. Now with his squad as "complete" as it's going to be time get this train back on track, no more excuses.

firstly, let me state how disappointed I am that Ruud van Nistelrooy couldn't join us. I feel that he was the best option despite his age and the only thing sweeter than reaching Champions League glory would have been to reach it with RvN in our ranks. It's worse after reading how bad he wanted the move himself. Judging from posts on this forum and chants at the Bernabeu...You'll always be a Merengue, Ruud.

As far as Adebayor, he was the next best option in my opinion because hes a player with something to prove. This is a huge opportunity for him. He has character flaws but hopefully the treatment at Manchester City combined with the opportunity to play under this Coach, at this club will motivate this guy to bring his all.

We aren't tied down long term and are in the position to find a suitable long term solution during the summer. If he exceeds expectations, the buy-out clause isn't ridiculous although his salary is.

It is not over for Karim Benzema. Instead of submitting to the pressure and the strange motivation tactic by Mou (at least, from what we've seen in public,) He should resist, continue to work harder, seize the opportunities that come by.

Pretty much a one in two striker all his career. Good in the air, perhaps not as physical as people perceive, but nonetheless he can hold up the ball, and he's the target man option Jose has been weeping for.

Exactly what we need right now, a big mofo on top. In Arsenal he proved to be one of the utmost top Strikers. Hopefully he will do it here too. Thx god we signed him over RVN

I know that most of would have preferred Ruud but Hamburg also have injured strikers so it is understandable that they are reluctant to let him go, but considering the lack of real quality in the market at the moment makes the Adebayor acquisition an excellent deal.

He will give us a different option up front. A big physical striker that will allows us to play deeper in knock-out matches and being able to stay up front and fight for the layoff that our technical provide.

I refuse to be negative or write him off before he even sets a foot on the pitch. Welcome Emmanuel.

Welcome to the club. Now Mourinho has an option in the attack and can change tactics according to the game, and also rest some players. The team now, at least on paper, sounds like one of the best in the world (and with the decline of English clubs surely is), time to show that on the field.

On paper we were one of the best before this deal... problem is with barca as the reference, being one of the best is not an option.;)

I find Hleb trying so hard to contain his laughter absolutely hilarious.

BTW, somebody mentioned the language barrier for Emmanuel. Aside from English, he also speaks French (the official language of Togo) so he should be fine getting along with most of his teammates. ;)

Welcome Emmanuel, i echo YS. Better than a faubert.

The one plus that he brings is his Heading ability, something that we have lacked in strikers for so long (Besides Ronaldo). Dude has score so many goals with his head.

Let's hope you can prove yourself on the pitch! Q: Does this mean he starts tomorrow?

He is a beast when it comes to headers. Adebayor is not included in the squad list, and assuming he will be at Madrid tomorrow for a medical, and the other procedure I highly doubt he can join the squad in Sevilla.

Anyways I think he will make his first appearance against Osasuna on the 30th.

He's an excellent player and proved that in his final season at Arsenal. At the very least he'll bring some humour. :D

Seems like a guy who could start an epic bromance with Marcelo. The very least the dancing will be awesome.

    Manolo works for me too.

Just read on AS that Mamadou Diarra will be the one to lose his spot on the roster with the arrival of Manolo. It's likely that Diarra will join Malaga in the coming days - a transfer that's been on the cards for a while now.

I wasn't too excited about this player, but when the deal was actually finalized I realized that we got a pretty damn good striker who's proven himself with Arsenal.

Our boys need to practice some crossing to actually utilize Adebayor's forte :)

    Welcome aboard Sheyi :D
