Funny how people now saying that Saudi Arabia has no talent. Saudi Arabia till today has no REAL SOCCER STADIUM. They all are olympic stadiums, and the best and the most recent one built in King Fahd in 1988. So much for the "modern" facilities! Just some ignorant people who think they know whatsup when they've never visited the country, or personally know a Saudi who tells him his 'sources'.

Saudi Arabia does not necessarily present a hospitable or even worthy image in general: their society, culture, and politics each represents the kind of things that most of us have learned not to appreciate, even if I don't like to dwell on the obvious. As such, I admit that Saudi Arabia does elicit great prejudice, including among many Iranians, doubly so because that prejudice seems to be reciprocated as there are Saudis who don't like the "Ajam" (Persians) for religious reasons and others who just don't like them period.

On the football field, which is the one that is relevant here, Saudi Arabia is the side responsible for most of our failures. I can go through the list of real and imagined grievances Iranian fans have against the Saudis. It is a rather long list. Many of those grievances are actually self-inflicted. But the one constant strain is that each of our failures had a beneficiary and that beneficiary was often none other than Saudi Arabia! No wonder Iranian fans feel so resentful of the Saudis.

What I tried to say earlier, however, is that the Saudis are done. Maybe not completely done, but they are no longer the side we need to worry about stealing our limelight. Certainly not in this tournament. They are out of it, humiliated and licking their wounds. We need to forget about them and worry about the sides we are about to face.

Other than the king Fahd stadium (built in 1988), most facilities in Saudi Arabia were built in the 60s and 70s. Hardly world class.

The only world class coaches are at the Senior NT level and the big four clubs (Al Hilal, Al Nasr, Al Ittihad and Al Shabab and SOMETIMES Al Ahli). The rest of the youth levels do with local Saudi coaches and the rest of the clubs with relatively unknown managers.

And besides, other than Carlos Parriera since 1998, Saudi Arabia hasn't imported a true "World Class" coach like Bruno Metsu.

    So...this point is busted.

Yet Iraq have come out of two additional wars and won an Asian Cup.

I have a theory, the theory being is that Iranians don't have footballing talent. The proof is that haven't won an Asian cup since 1976 when they were beating the likes of the Khmer Republic, South Yemen and Burma.

Do not confuse obesity with overweight. 1/4 Saudis is obese and 2/5 is overweight (if you add them together you get around 60% overweight AND Obese)

Iran has around 40% Overweight and Obese men. Not too far behind.

Again, please cite numbers. I have no idea what each country spends on it's football.

Who would this player be and what's his salary?

You mean the King Fahd International Stadium? That doesn't belong to Al Hilal.

    I get bored.

I really like how you quantify "talent" as an object where 25 million people can't have because they happen to live in certain geographical border or because footballing talent is somehow genetic.

Saudi Arabia is the least homogeneous country on the Arabian Penisula.
