Understandable, but he's a probable U.S senior, which I know I'd make room for.

Aninbaba? Sarkodie? Bruin? Hertzog? Plata? Estupinan?
Gonna guess they stay away from the foriegn players in the first round. Huge need for CB and the two best are still available. Huge need for a forward and Bruin supposedly helped his cause at the combine

He's been struggling to see time for the current U-20 team.

I trust an Ex-defending coach to spot a solid defender.

Had a bad combine from many sources but you don't become a college all american, all pac 10 etc.. by sucking

AJ Soares is kind of an unsexy pick, as college seniors often are, but it might turn out to be a wise choice.

We'll see. We certainly have plenty of options at CB right now. Soares is the type of guy who should be ready immediately.

That coach also brought in Rob Valentino and Cory Gibbs, so be careful there...

Considering the Rev's draft history, it doesn't need to.

I like the pick. Soares was the consensus top CD before the combine. He should be able to step in and play immediately.

Just a guess, but they might have looked at Anibaba as the flavor of the day and Soares as the better, more skilled pick for the long haul.

Good player. Might be a bit of a reach, but no major complaints here.

Gotta hope some of the attackers start falling. Is a move back into the 1st round too much to hope for at this point?

Good pick. This kid has good feet and is known for his composure under pressure. My bet he's going to be a starter this year.
