Neither ESPN (Deportes or ESPN3.com) nor FOX Sports (FOX Deportes) has the U.S. TV rights to the match.

ESPN+ and ESPN DOS have the match in Spanish-speaking Latin America (Mexico, Dominican Republic, and all points south except Brazil) except Argentina.

My suspicion: the AFA jacked up the U.S. TV rights fee at the last minute and TyC choose not to pay.

this is a complete outrage, but check canchallena.com or bosta or river's websites, they are all streaming the game live

I was outraged when I realized that TyC wasn't going to show it.. Luckily I picked up a good stream on Rojadirecta and connected it to my TV. Still, I'm furious that I pay so much money for this crap and they end up not even showing the most important game of the year.

Fortunately my laptop has an HDMI output, so I connect that to my tv. I used to connect my old laptop with the S-Video output, but that was worse quality obviously.

    Guess what?

TyC Sports USA will have San Lorenzo vs River Plate and Boca Juniors vs Arsenal on Sunday November 21.

    http://www.tycsports.com/extras/programacion/grillas/html/exterior/grilla.html

My guess? The AFA jacked up the U.S. TV rights fee last week for River Plate vs Boca Juniors and TyC told the AFA to take a hike.

Re: Argentina Primera US TV Rights

The HD feed of TV Publica Digital, exists but by the time being not all of its programming is made on HD, haven't had the chance to check if football is but i bet it isn't yet since Canal 9 who also shows the matches doesn't have a HD feed yet. Note that TV Publica Digital and Telefe will be the ones to air the Copa América in Argentina, Telefe will be available on TDT sometime in the first quarter of 2011, their HD signal will be ready for the Copa América, though i don't know if the first thing they show on HD will be the Copa América or another program.

TDT is Televisión Digital Terrestre(in english Digital Terrestial TV(DTTV)), which broadcast from "terrestial" signals carrying less spectrum than analogue, in Argentina, adopted the japanese ISDB-T(In Brazil SBTVD) standard called SATVDT, basically it's "free to air" digital tv. Now this standard has the channel divided in 13 segments, either SD or HD feed use 12 segments, leaving one segment(1seg) available for mobile terrestial digital broadcasting(for example cellphones), note that erroneously some sources indicate that 1seg feeds stream at 480p, not true it's actually 240p, for further reference in the match between Independiente and Estudiantes aired on Canal 9 the camera caught somebody checking the match between Boca and Newell's(which was being aired on TVPD at the same time) on their cellphone(Some Samsung and LG cellphones can pick 1seg feeds, for example the Samsung Galaxy-S and other previous models).

Unfortunately, the Torneos de Verano matches that will air on FOX Sports Latin America this summer (January 11-February 2) do not appear to be available in the U.S. on either FOX Deportes or TyC Sports USA.

So FOX Sports gloating that they're seen from Ushuaia to Canada(or occasion in the whole world) in HD is not realistic(because duh anybody can pretty much see anything on an online stream)? Why isn't that a surprise?

TYC sports can now be found on Verizon Fios, at least here in NYC. I'm switching over as soon as I can.

Yes, it showed up on FIOS here in Tampa the WEEK AFTER the latest season ended.

    Not in HD, of course.

Also, FIOS does NOT have Fox Soccer Channel or GolTV in HD, while Time Warner/Brighthouse does.

You need to check your package.
Not THAT package, your cable package.

I watched Catania-Inter this weekend on HD en la casa de mis viejos, they have Time Warner. I think it was channel 1162 or 1165, here in West Central Florida, anyway.

The picture quality of Fios is amazing! I would really give it a shot, besides I'm not sure that TYC comes in HD.
