Yet it seems Somoza will be the first signing.

    Sauro left for Godoy Cruz.

I'm thinking we do have problems at DM, especially when Battaglia is not available, and it's a big part of our defensive problems. Between Somoza and Battaglia they hopefully can combine to make one good veteran at the position at all times.

Is Medel staying? I don't want to lose that guy. With him and Battaglia/Somoza they can hopefully protect Riquelme. Assuming of course Riquelme will play.

    Too many question marks.

I'm pretty sure we have Medel locked up for another year unless we sell him which is always a possibility these days. I agree with you on Somoza and Seba. Also Benavidez may come back from loan which could be an option if he developed while gone.

You gotta love some Falcioni's declarations... He said Boca has the best squad, yet he still need refuerzos. With that, he's taking Borghi's path. :D

I hear el burrito Rivero is going to join Boca on loan..

Edit: Ole just posted some info on the deal. Apparently it's a one year loan without charge, though San Lorenzo will be getting Matias Gimenez on loan for a year in exchange.

Another "swap" would involve Somoza and Mendez, note while Mendez would go to Vélez for a year, Somoza would stay at Boca for 1 year and a half because it's Villarreal who's loaning him, in reality they're giving Mendez so Vélez finishes Somoza's loan.

It's looking more and more likely that we won't get any refuerzos for this tournament.

the biggest refuerzo isn't a new signing, its Roman. he is going to lift us, plus hopefully the new signings from last tournament in defense start to gel

i like erviti he is a great player, but i'm not sure where we would have put him, since we don't really use a deep lying playmaker of his characteristics

I spoke too soon :D Rivero has joined, and it looks like Somoza is very close too.

And yes it looks like Roman is going to be fully fit this tournament. Great news!

With the additions of Rivero and Somoza, I don't know if Boca is going to play well, but as far as toughness goes they'll be hard to match.

Yeah, it's Falcioni's debut against Independiente, as we speak. They're late in the first half, still 0-0.

Nice to see Boca back with a line of four.

    Lucchetti
    Monzon...Insaurralde...Caruzzo...Calvo
    Colazo...Mendez...Medel....Chavez
    Viatri....Mouche

This info is according to canchallena.com. I'm not at home, so I'm not watching it.

Final: Boca 2 Independiente 0. Goals scored by Pochi Chavez and Insaurralde.

Good start for Falcioni, hopefully it's a good omen.

What's up with Canete? Will he get any chances in the first team this coming season?
Any exciting youngsters in your ranks? I have heard some good stuff about the Paredes kid.
