I'm not quite sure I understand what's going on here. It says he's training with the team, but it also says he'll be working with the attacking players during his time at the club. Almost sounds as though Arsenal has brought him in to check out his skills as a coach for strikers.

He's an Arsenal Legend. If they make him an offer, do you think he takes it?

    Post.

Henry has said how highly he thinks of Arsenal in the past, but he also seemed pretty committed to the whole RBNY thing.

Wouldn't worry about it. Personally I think it is good because it keeps him sharp with great players and that can reaffirm things that succeed. Also keeps relationships open with potential acquisitions in the future.

Not sure how you interpreted that article as saying that Henry will be coaching. It seems like he will just be training with the youngsters to keep match fit.

There's been very little buzz around this, even given the English media's tendency to overblow everything, so I going to take the story for what it is. He's staying in shape working out with his old club with people he's familiar with and trust.....nothing more.

If there was more to it, i'm pretty confident there would be a LOT more public speculation and off base articles all over the web.

Arsenal is in the thick of a title race, currently within the top 3, and their most recent home match resulted in a 0-0 draw with fellow title contenders Man City. With goal scoring in these matches, coupled with their highly suspect goalkeeping, at a premium, they must be looking at all options to solidify their strikers and help them acquire Henry's golden touch.

Just what I've taken out of it. But I, of course, could be looking to deeply into it.

    a) He still loves Arsenal (which is perfectly OK in my books)

    b) A common complaint among Euro types is how long the off-season is in MLS. He probably isn't used to having this long of a layoff and wants to keep sharp.

No possible downside to this in my book, he gets fit training alongside very strong players and in an environment that he's comfortable. I hope he comes back to NY strong and confident!

He gets to keep in shape during a very long off-season at a place where he became a club legend, and the club's youngsters get to train with a man many surely idolize.

And unlike some other people in this league, there's no pretense of trying to get his national team coach of trying to pick him for the side. It's simply to keep in shape. And maybe to avoid the ridiculously cold weather.

I don't see a negative here at all.

    Indeed!

He has an apartment at Highbury so it's good he's getting quality touches on the ball and dining up at London Colney.

Better than seeing him nightly at the Garden and the Rock. He hasn't moved to NY to hang out courtside but to win on the pitch. This demonstrates his commitment to being ready for the season.

Our starting striker is training at the Arsenal without any request for a loan deal. All good!

Carb hates anybody that doesn't come from South American leagues, because according to him its the only place on the planet where quality soccer is played.
