Make that FOUR who would love to go! Although seriously, I will not pay a bunch of money to watch them from the top of the stadium -- I'd rather watch them on TV.

This is futbol that way it SHOULD be played! FC Dallas is my local team and I support them (we have our ticket deal already for next season!), but Barcelona is more than sport -- they way they have played in the last several games is ARTISTRY. As the Gol TV announcer said during the Madrid game -- when the Barca boys were passing the ball in and around the baffled RM players -- this is a "symphony of futbol."

Charlie -- maybe it's a "girl thing." But Barca are like POETRY when they play at their best. And Leo Messi..... I have NEVER seen anything to match his incredible talent (hehe, and then there's the "poker" he scored against Arsenal in the spring....)

Of course, I have been to Spain (in high school but not to any futbol matches), so I would LOOOOVE to go back and to see a match at Camp Nou. and for that -- I wouldn't care just how far up I was. :-D

Lets calculate this. Where would my money be better spent?

Giving $75-100 per ticket to Smiley Jones (plus a 50% surcharge for parking  ) to see one MEANINGLESS friendly involving 2 teams who I have no vested interest, or paying that same amount of money (tickets + parking) to see a minimum of 4 games with a team who I have followed since their inception?

    Hmmmm... choices... choices!!! ;)

Quite true. My Christmas present from my hubby was FCD tickets for next season! :-D I would only go to the Barca match at Jerry World if I won seats up close.... I would seriously LOVE to see Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, etc. -- but NOT through binoculars from the nosebleed section of the Cowboys Stadium, when I'm sure them game will be on TV.

Personally I will not attend. Hopefully FCD is a sponsor for the game and will have a strong marketing presence.

I strongly suggest if at all possible that FCD get Barca to train at PHP and their complex and have those training sessions open to the public. That would be very positive to get people to PHP that maybe haven't been before.

I have no problem with any of the friendlies here in the metromess (like Chelsea last year, Everton a few years ago) involving either America or Chivas from Mexico. Those are top quality teams and a good draw.

While I'd love to see Barcelona play (they had an away game the one time I was in the city), I'm not going to pay the outrageously inflated prices Jerry Jones will be charging for a meaningless friendly against another team I have no vested interest in.

Barcelona vs FCD friendly, or Barcelona vs anyone in a match that has meaning, I'm there, but I'm not just going to throw money at Jerry Jones for something I have little to no interest in and that will likely be televised anyway.

I'll be eating at the Popeye's across the street from the Death Star while the game is going on, wearing my FCD jersey, asking, "What does FCB stand for?"

A friend told me Messi and Alves (not that I give a shit about him) won't be available thanks to Copa America. However, Copa America runs July 1-24, so I don't know how true that is.

Last year he and alot of the other top players(who were in the WC)didn't play in most of their Asian tour because of the WC and wanting to rest up before the season, and it pissed off alot of fans out there. So it will be interesting if they do that again.

And yet, all of the stars for Inter-Milan played when they played FC Dallas in August last summer. This has a great deal to do with how the contract is written, and what FIFA mandatory rest periods are in effect. (i.e. - 23 day rest period window following last appearance in a world cup ended a couple of days before the game).

I don't hate Jerry Jone. I just don't want to spend a above certain amount of money to watch two clubs I don't care about.

    I know I'm in the minority, but I don't give a sh*t.

Make no mistakes, I couldn't care less if you guys don't go. I will say this about a connection between FC Dallas and FCB. FCD make no bones about striving to mirror FCB structure and style. FCB success is about one style, one system throughout their entire youth development. FC Dallas ambitions are the same. One thing you hear about what Oscar has established is possession style soccer. Read third party accounts about FCD youth teams and, you will hear FCD kids plays the "beautiful game". I have no ties to Barca but even i can't not admire how these little midgets methodically dismantle their opponents.

Barca is great and more fun to watch as a neutral than virtually any club team in the world. I'm very glad that FCD has picked them as a model.

But, as neutral, I'm not going unless I get in for free. With most other teams for whom I'm a neutral, I wouldn't make thre trek to JerryWorld and deal with the parking and all that even with a free ticket.

Barca should be absolutely thrilled that I almost care about them. :D

Sorry to revive an old thread, but does anyone know about Barca's schedule in Dallas? I would love to wait outside training for potential autographs. Thanks in advance!

I wonder if on a Barcelona board someone is asking a FC Dallas question?

I went to the Chelsea-Club America scrimmage when Jerryworld was still a novelty. Okay, great stadium, two teams I don't care about playing at half speed. Get a taste of Chelsea and CLub America fandom, blehhh. Novelty has worn off.

I'll be watching this one on TV (maybe). Barcelona is one heck of a team but I've plenty of chances to watch them on TV in meaningful matches.

Barcelona vs FCD ? I'd be all over that game.

Chelsea fandom? You mean when they hand their fans flags at the door for them to wave?
