I have flown Emirates albeit before their sponsorship and i used to have a JVC blaster way back but find it hard accepting Sharp products cause they sponsored ManUre, but I never turned down a Carlsberg
Girlfriend got me an authentic home wilshere shirt. I personally wouldnt have spent the money for an authentic, but it is quite nice.
Could this be our 125 anniversary shirt? More here:http://www.footballshirtculture.com/11/12-kits/arsenal-11-12-nike-home-shirt-leaked.html
^^^seen it already, what a rip off, it's this years with a shit banner round the badge and a red collar smh
When I was 13 I saved enough money for my first stereo system (3 disc changer *oooooo*) and when I was shopping around it had to be a JVC because of Arsenal, nothing else would do.
i had a jvc stereo when i was 13 too, but arsenal didn't have any sponsors back then, it was just a coincidence.
When I was looking to get a mobile phone in the UK when I moved over here, I looked at O2 because of Arsenal, but went with Orange instead. Only reason was the people at the shop were idiots with no customer service experience. Some of the other sponsors I have seen, won't change my mind. Walkers are good crisps. JJB is not a bad sporting good store. Carling, carlsberg, tennants, and strong bow are good drinks.
If that is the new 'Quasicentennial' shirt for next year, it's insufferably boring and inferior to the current home top. Looks like Nike attempted to shoehorn the laurel & banner elements from the original Royal Arsenal identity in with the current crest. In all white stitching, it looks like an amorphous blob. FootballShirtCulture also showed an image of an Arsenal ball with the same laureled crest in gold. It looks cooler than the shirt, FWIW. I guess my expectations were too high after this year's near-perfect home kit. Nowhere to go but down. Glad I bought the current one in long and short sleeves.
Red shirt - check white sleeves - check Looks good to me! My theory that people will bitch about anything when it comes to a new kit looks like it is coming true.
In defense of the bitchy people, myself included, the wreath is overwrought and ridiculous. This is supposed to be a landmark shirt for the club; Nike actually has used laurels surrounding the badge on T-shirts a few years back, so if anything, this is just recycling.
You don't have to buy the new shirt every year If Nike makes too many changes people complain that it isn't "classic Arsenal". If they stick with the red shirt/all white sleeve look people say it looks the same. Damned if they do, damned if they don't! Darth, if they are going to go all old school with the laurels and what not, they should pop the first crest Arsenal ever used on there! Edit: Original Crest: Based on:
They probably hadn't seen a leopard yet back in the 1800's, eh? "Nigel, draw some leopard heads on the crest." "What the hell is a leopard?" "I don't know, just draw that same animal head you always draw."
