I think thats fair, his hustle and humble approach have definitely earned him a lot of goodwill. Those important goals don't hurt either. If every new signing played as hard as he does, we'd have a lot less problems.

Benzema was a standout, playing spirited and dazzling ala Raul v Manchester.

You definitely agree with that. Definitely.

El Fideo is looking pretty good aint he? Its a surprise the Argie fanboys havent come here to show their "superior" knowledge considering the early posts really made them mad, specially YS's posts :D.

^^ That's exactly how people felt about Sneijder at the halfway point of his first season.

So what is your point? That there is a chance that he might cheat on on his wife, leading to her divorcing him and taking their two kids back to their native country which will subsequently lead to him becoming unhappy off-the-field and putting on weight whilst playing like crap for the next season and a half until he is sold?

I suppose that could happen; not the wife and kids part but the rest so I will change what I said:

    Happy now?

To be honest I do not appreciate what Di Maria adds to team, I find his one leggedness a nuisance and his effort (running like a headless chicken) for most part useless. I know I will get flamed for this but I would much rather have Leon who I fell in love with after his goal against Milan start, or give Kaka, Canales, Granero a run instead of him, heck Benzema and Adbeyor on the field would give me more confidence in us playing good football than seeing Di Maria on the field.

Mourinho should get over his love for the players he signed, and allow other players to play.
I would of much rather of had David Silva than have Di Maria on this Madrid team diving and stuff.

Haha... You are right (at least about you getting flamed for this :D )

I too would prefer Silva purchase or playing Kaka. But Granero, Leon, Canales??! You cannot have watched all our games with a statement like that?

I wouldnt go as far to say he has completely won me over considering his price tag. But I expected him to do far worse than he has.

So you "fell in love" with a player after one goal and you would start him over a player who up until the last month or so has been one of our most consistent players despite being "one-legged"?

I don't know why anyone would flame you for that logic

Silva is as one-footed - if not more so - than Di Maria.

Boy Wonder Oezil isn't exactly too smart on his right foot either.

Silva would of had fit in better in our system. Di Maria is in and out winger, whereas Silva can play more centrally and it could be assumed he (Silva) would of fit better in our system than Di Maria. Let alone Di Maria is played on the right where he cant cross as well, the only excites me about him is not dribbling (he loses the ball to often) but its shooting which I credit him for.

What I mean it is somewhat irrational to play one player who is off-form week in, week out when you got good players on the bench.

He has not been exactly consistent, he may of had showed up during a game by scoring a goal, but most of the time his contribution to the offense is not great.

Unfortunately we have not seen much of Pedro Leon, but I believe if he was given a chance he could offer us more than Di Maria in terms of crosses on the right, and threat for that matter.

From what I seen, I can assure that Silva can uses his right foot better than Di Maria, who at times misses chance so he can turn around and use his left.

Well did you see Silva making full use of his right foot (which the angle greatly favoured) when he was put through one-on-one by Tevez at the weekend?

Di Maria doesn't have much of a right foot, I'll give you that. But bringing up another player who's very one-footed doesn't really add substance to critiquing someone with similar flaws.

Six goals and eight assists in the first half of his first season in a new league is not consistent for a winger? A couple of those goals were important game winners too. He's won numerous PK's and his work rate is incredible. I'll give you the last month he's been looking dog tired, I even called for him to be rested, but before that he was more than consistent and one of the best contributors to the offense. You just sound like a damn hater now.

Ozil is the player who replaced Silva. Mourinho wanted a winger and bought a winger in DiMaria, Ozil is the one who plays in Silvas position.

Nobody "replaced" Silva as wasn't as on our radar as some of us initially believed. According to the player Man City were the only club to show serious interest in him.

Im just saying, Ozil is the person who is playing in the position Silva wouldve played in had we bought him. Not DiMaria.

Which is, IMO, part of the reason why Di Maria's lack of a right foot shows a lot more than it does of Silva. If Silva were here then he would certainly not be played wide right like Di Maria. When you're playing in a more central role it's a little less obvious that you shape to get on to your left foot a lot more as opposed to playing on the right.
