    Re: Goodson

Where were they playing him? I always thought it was a huge mistake to take him from being a deep-lying MF with serious defensive responsibilities. Those full-speed leg-hook sliding tackles that looked like Brek's red card (except completely clean) were awesome.

Um, Van den Bergh is playing in NTPSA over 30 league - Division B! Saw him hanging with Jamie Watson at Premier Park yesterday.
Richetti is also playing in NTPSA 30A on Azzurri with Gabby Gentile.

    Crazy.

DVB is actually playing on an Open Div2 team.. Not Over30, and Pablo only played for Azzurri once or twice..

but I do find it funny that the two guys mentioned in all of the Daniel Hernandez articles as the two that "didn't attended the BBQ" are now seen playing in a rec league..

Challenge: Walk into a pub in England or Scotland. Any pub, your choice. Find some burly old chap wearing a footie shirt of his local team. Try explaining to him how a club that has never played a game before will be playing in the Top Division next year, 'drafted' Wallace who had been playing for another club, and then a few hours later 'traded' him back to that club for 'allocation money'

Let me know how that goes.

Alternate version if you prefer: Instead of saying Portland is a new club, explain that they played in the 2nd division but will be in the first division, but not because they won 'promotion'

I guess you could counter by asking if his newly promoted club stands a chance in hell of actually winning the league. Ever.

We do things differently but not everything elsewhere is better. Even though Dallas didn't win the cup at least they were there. They have a decent chance to be there most years. Maybe ask that same Scot (as long as he's not a Rangers or Celtic fan) if he'd trade the promotion / relegation for a salary cap and playoffs.

UPDATES on all the FCD and former FCD players involved in the Expansion Draft of 2010.

I think the trade dust cloud has settled now. Here is where everyone is for the beginning of 2011.

Dax McCarty -> Portland -> DC United - he joins the men in black

Anthony Wallace -> Portland -> Colorado Rapids - just a virtual roundtrip

Arturo Alvarez -> Portland-> Real Salt Lake - can now check aother western conference team off the list of teams he has played for (LA, FCD, San Jose, RSL)

    Atiba Harris -> Vancouver

Jason Kreis and Jeff Cassar - two former Burn players that had a long carreer in Dallas, have been living la vida loca in Salt Lake City for the past several years.

So, we all know where they are, and what they are doing (coaching and goalkeeper coaching), but what are they thinking after their season was ended by their former team, FCD?

This is not a former FCD player, but he was an important cog in the organization during his time here...

You can count on Hitch to pick out an unfortunate name for supporters. Hoops here, Striker likers there. How many want to be called that?

Maybe he's like an amateur artilleryman: after first going too "traditional" and then too "American," the next one will be on target.

As much as I'd like to bag on Hitch, it look like that may have been an established supporters group from FC Ft. Lauderdale that's now a re-tread being branded to Miam FC. Not that you can put all your trust in one blogspot site, but the article kind of read that way to me and I was able to find this.

Dallas has now lost Cunningham, Harris and Dax. That is a lot considering the extra games next year. I thought they might go after Angel but the LA Geritols grabbed him.
