Re: Djeparov moves to FC Seoul Yeah, it is just a loan for 6 months, and they paid 1m$ for it. The head of our giant company Zeromax, which was the main sponsor of FC Bunyodkor, was arrested some weeks ago, so now the club is giving its players to other clubs as loans.
I still don't understand why Kang-hee the Great and Jeonbuk made such a questionable decision. It is very rare to sell your one of the most valuable assets to your rival club in the midway of the season. Jeonbuk do have stacks of a baller on the right wing (They've got Kim Hyung-beom, Seo Jung-jin, and Kim Seung-yong) but Choi Tae-uk always comes to mind first when speaking of the position in the Jeonbuk squad. Jeonbuk still has to play for not only K-League but POSCO Cup, KFA Cup, and, AFC Champions League titles. It doesn't makes sense to sell your one of the best players when you still need more acquistions to strengthen your squad.
Speaking of Djeparov's move to FC Seoul, I heard that he decided to join the club because of the following reasons: 1) he feels like he had achieved a lot at Bunyodkor and wants new challenge; and 2) he was impressed by infrastructure of Korean football when he visited Korea for his national team duty and AFC Champions League ties.
"Because we have Ha Taekyun, Jose Mota, and Yeom Kihoon, we didn't need another signing in that position." lololol Even after spending a full season and a half in the bottom half of the league, the team still does not get it haha
I don't think he can go to Sangmoo for the military service. He'll probably go play for the Police team in the lower div. I guess he wanted play in Europe before it's too late for him. He'd be around 30 by the time he's done with the military service. A bit of a gamble.
So is Cho Won Hee ever going to return to Wigan? EDIT: he doesnt know yet http://kr.news.yahoo.com/sports/golf/view?aid=20101210164432519c4
Sangmoo's age limit is 27. You can't be older than that to apply there. Police team's limit is 30. For Jung Jogook, I think he had only one of the two options. 1) Go to Sangmoo now. By the time he's back, he'd be 29(almost). It'd be K-League season 2013 he'll resume in FC Seoul. His last months in the military will be with the national team for the WCQ IF he gets picked by the NT. 2) Go to Auxerre now. Play as long as he can(3 seasons?), and come back to Korea just in time for the military service. IF he's picked by the NT by then, he can start the military service as the WCQ member and into the World Cup itself when Korea makes it. In other words, just like Kim Jung-woo, he can use his military time while playing the NT games. I think option #2 is better. Euro offers like this don't come that often(especially to players who haven't played NT games in a while). And if he doesn't grab this opportunity and just flee to the military now, who knows if any team will give him any offer after he's back? He'd be a 29, 30 year old striker by then. Even if he shines at the WCQ and the WC, he'd be considered too old to go to Europe. If he (as a player) ever dreamed of playing in Europe sometime in his career, this is one opportunity he wouldn't want to miss.
Hi@all In Swiss medias Ja-Cheol Koo from Jeju United is linked with the Young Boys. Did you hear something about this transfer? Do you think that Koo has to potential to be successful in europe? Thank you very much for your answers. Best regards from Bern, Switzerland Steven
1. There is truth to the rumour. He took the time to visit Bern, where he was seen by the local media. 2. He has the potential to suceed in places beyond the Swiss league. I don't think he's going to sign with Young Boys. There is a strong outcry amongst his fans to have him move to a club of a higher stature and his club and his coach, along with the media, is running somewhat of a campaign to avoid selling him this winter. My prediction is he moves to another club in Europe during July.
There league is not the best but he would get to know europe pretty well. Its an okey start. And Switzerland is an beautiful country to live, for some obvius reasons
I don't think that the player visited switzerland without the intention to join this club. Do you have informations about the negotiations? Because swiss medias did not write anything on the last few days... The swiss league is a very good springboard for young players. The clubs are seriously managed and the tactical and also technical level are on a good level. Wheras in the top leagues the intensity is much higher. Young Boys reached at least the 1/16. finals of the uefa cup.
There weren't any negotiation. He was invited to watch their match over a weekend, and he accepted the invitation. Young Boys are said to plan on excersing the buyout clause in his contract. However, it means nothing if the player himself does not want to leave the club. If the Swiss league is a 'start' then he's already done more than just an okay start from the success he's achieved over in his K-League career.
Steven - perhaps one of our younger teenage prospects might benefit from gaining experience in Switzerland, but Koo Ja Cheol is one of our top young footballers who has already proven himself in the K-League (as hihi has pointed out above). IMO, (just like LCY, KSY or Son HM) he doesn't need a springboard to successfully move onto a much bigger league.
I have never seen playing Koo ja Cheol. It's impossible for me to estimate his potential. But the step from the K-League to a top 5 league in europe is very hard. The game is more physical, the intensity much higher and the most significant aspect is the cultural difference. As a young Asian player it's a big challange to fit in the european culture. A lot of players need time to adapt. In the Bundesliga or Premier League clubs have 4-5 players for one position. As a new player you have to bring high performences from the first minute. In lower leagues like the Swiss Super League you receive time to adapt and develop. Do not underestimate this aspect. Do you have some new informations about the potential transfer of Ko Ja Cheol? Is the player linked with other clubs?
As many football fans do, if you cant watch a player live, you watch it through Youtube. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7cQ3b1y9bM&feature=related"]YouTube - Koo Ja-Cheol 2010 Highlight Ver1.2[/ame] That goal at 0:50 is my favourite goal by him because it was that goal that caught the eye of many people. Ironically, after that goal against Zambia he was linked with Blackburn Rovers. He was so close to signing with the club but if my memories serve me right, the Blackburn's scouts couldnt come to Korea to do a medical check with him because of the snow. So eventually he couldnt move to the club. ATM he is still thinking about the potential move to Young Boys. He wants to listen to the advice from the people around him and they are not very eager about a move to Switzerland tbh. Im not sure about other clubs being linked with him when Young Boys were linked but there were rumours that scouts from EPL club was monitoring his situation closely.
