Wasn't last year a loan to Santos so she could play after the WPS season?

Her production this year was minimal.
With Boquete, Masar, Nogueira, Washington, McDonald next year, they don't need Cristiane and her salary.

I would be very surprised to see her back with the red stars next year.

This is the best move for everyone, including Cristiane.

    I'm really happy for Cristiane.

Let's face reality: CRS has been frustrating. We all expected better results. And when we didn't see better results, we keep changing, experimenting, etc. It happens (or should happen) in every organization.
    We've had a musical-chairs lineup for two years, injuries, call-ups, transfers, you-name-it . . . and NOTHING has worked.

I don't have the answers. A lineup that looks promising one night, looks absolutely AYSO the next. I hope that we have better success next year.

And I hope Cristiane stays in the WPS, on a team where she can showcase her skills.

Cristiane does have thos Brazilian ball skills. Yes. But there is something missing there. This team was put together wrong. Maybe Emma thought by recruiting all these ball skill players like Cristiane, Rapinoe, Carney, etc they will learn how to play together. Well that didn't happen. It's not all Cristiane's fault but she was, IMO a big part of it. She would hold the ball too long, try to dribble through 3 or 4 players, take loooong shots.
IMO, Cristiane is just the opposite of Marta. Marta dribbles when she has too, finds open players, hustles her butt on defense, has a great work ethic. Marta doesn't do useless rolling of the ball with her feet. Her ball movements have a purpose.

IMO, the only place that Cristiane will be successful in this league is playiing with Marta. She is to Marta what Scottie Pippen was to Michael Jordan. The sidekick that only plays well as a supporting partner to the superstar.
Trying to be the superstar themselves, they fail.

She did score 8 goals for Brazil during their qualifying while Marta had 9. Unfortunate she only seems to be able to score with the presence of Marta.

I told you guys IMO, Cristiane to Marta is what Scottie Pippen was to Michael Jordan. A very good and successful sidekick. Hall of Famer in fact. But when Scottie went on his own to other Clubs after the Bulls, he wasn't so effective as he was being with MJ.

The same thing with Cristiane. Her best and most successful role is to play as Marta's sidekick.
