Well, of Inzaghi's goals... 25 are offside, 15 are from 2 yards out, 10 are handballs and the remaining 10 are deflected or free headers. So F him. He doesn't count.
It is almost certain that we will be facing any one from the below list My Preferred choice will be in this order:- CopenHagen Marseille Lyon Inter Milan Roma Arsenal I think Inter is a fragile at the moment and I would prefer them ahead of Arsenal or Roma.
******** that i dnt wanna be anywhere near inter, while they might be in crisis at the mo, come february they mite b a different team. injured players coming back, buying new players in january etc. plus they have benitez, no matter what u think of him, he is a good tactician and hed love to get one over mourinho.
I said this last year, and I'll say it again. If we have what it takes to win it, we need to beat anyone at any stage.
We have been saying this for 7 years and have seen teams like Villarreal and Valencia go further than us..I just want to get past the goddamn last 16 this year and semi-final is my realistic expectation anyway..Failing in the same round is also getting into players mind as well which Iker admitted and I certainly got a feeling that we were nervous while playing away against Lyon.. I remember Man Utd going through a similar face after getting beaten by Lyon, Milan and failing to get past Group stage in 2006..Then they got Lille whom they beat in last 16 and went till semis that year and won the tournament next year.So getting weaker teams can also help to break a bad run and do well further in the tournament against bigger sides. The minimum objective in CL this seasons should be to get past the last 16..
I would really like us to have the easiest draw possible. I'll showcase my machismo and start wearing my "Bring on the world" t-shirt after we've broken this curse. Can't believe people are still harping on with the "we'll take on all comers" after last 6 yrs of the same shit.
I would of course love us to play Copenhagen, and the FCK squad agrees. Just the fact most of them are Real Madrid fans is ++. It'll be great for FCK economy as well as it'll defiantly bring home another full house and since FCK is the only team in ChL from Scandinavia they get a share of the viewers from up here. While this means FCK won't go through I don't care since my love for Real Madrid is just as great. Another thing most people don't know that will be a bonus for Real Madrid is that the Superliga is going on winter break, and since it's so friggin cold up here our break lasts till march so FCK will be in a start-up shape at best. If not, bring on Basel or Valencia. Let's just break this curse and there will be plenty of time to face the hard teams. Edit; Would only want Inter in a draw if Benitez isn't fired by that time. Since Benitez = sure win.
The cries for revenge have always played out so well in the past, so I can only agree wholeheartedly.
What's worse than being a fanboy? Supporting your club while wearing a totally different club's gear, probably out of shame that you suck. Basel fans with mixed Basel / Barcelona fan gear = pathetic.
I dont give a shit who we get. Of course it would be a bonus to get an easy draw but to wint he cup, we have to beat the best teams in the CL anyway so it wont make any difference. Maybe getting a side like Copenhagen will inspire them more to do well and to actually KO us. Maybe getting a side like Lyon or Marseille will help us more.
There are worse dies in the draw than Lyon, but there are also better sides. I wouldn't be too concerned if we were to draw them again. They weren't a great side last year and they're not a great side this year. The only team that I really do not want is Arsenal.
Of course because you ain't the one playing in the game with all the pressure stacked on your back. It's that time of year again! Yep and I don't mean Christmas, I mean "Braaavado! Time"! I love this part of the year when poster demand the worst, get their wish.... of course making a 180 degree change of mind shortly after the second leg of the knockout is over. Give me the easiest tie, the most beneficial match. FFS this is a steeple chase not a 40 yard dash.
Copenhagen will be easy. I saw their match, and they made many mistakes, which surprisingly aren't mentioned anywhere. A proper offensive team ( which excludes Rubin and Pana ) would've punished that. As I see it, they've got a good shot in Vingaard. Everything else is basically teamwork, but should be feared on corners and freekicks. If UEFA wanna do their thing, then i'm fine with Inter too.
I do because unlike you, I've seen this same ride occur multiple times. I'd rather have an easy opponent, get over the hump and build confidence. Wasn't meant to be offensive, it's just tiring, that's all. Look back to the UEFA CL knockout draw threads from the past years and read up. Then look at the post match thread of our second legs. Have fun.
