Rapids midfielder Jamie Smith guests on the Radio Sounders Show from Seattle. Radio Sounders Show with Jamie Smith
Drew Moor ready to kick Dall-a#@ and take names-like it! http://www.soccer365.com/us_news/story_181110152433.php
There's a nice spread on the second page of today's Post's sports section of the individual team members with the Cup. Kimura's picture is the best. There's also a comment in the Broncos bits section about how a man who brought a Stanley Cup, MLS Cup, and a NBA conference finals appearance to Denver is enemy #1 this week because his Rams are playing the Broncos. And the "thank for" column says thanks to the Rapids for winning and prompting a Title Town, Again headline.
This showed up on my FSC schedule for Monday, 5:30PM (MST): "Rapids Rise to MLS Champions A review of the Colorado Rapids' championship season"
Thanks and repped. Saw that just in time and would have missed it otherwise. Think they've had it 'in the can' since June? ;>)
It looks like it rebroadcasts 4 times on 12 - 1, 2, 3, and 4. Enough times for the haters to see some fantastic goals from the season from several Rapids and hopefully feel foolish about their 'they didn't deserve it - did you see those goals(?)' rants about MLS Cup.
Last words by a few Rapids before heading underground for a few months. http://www.soccer365.com/us_news/story_291110170050.php
Anyone notice at the end of the review show that Rogondino called Jeff Cunningham Jeff Cummings not once but twice? Jeff Cummings and Casey Conor, alternate universe MLS?
No, didn't notice that but I did notice that three goals which either tied the game or won it for the bad guys were clearly the result of failed off side calls.
I did notice but gave him a pass because it was not typical for him (there are others who don't seem to be able to get anyone's name right) and because the overall show was so good. An hour with more detail would have been even better but I can DVR the rerun and play it twice for an hour long show. ;>)
I like some of the radio stations in town actually mentioning the Rapids now. 104.3 (forget who, it was in afternoon drive time) was talking about the best run organizations in town as part of the fallout from Taping Scandal II and said, well the Rapids have the championship, so doesn't it mean they are the best run team? Then they went on to mention other things about the Rapids season and making the crucial Mullan acquisition and I thought...wow...not only talking Rapids but putting them at the top of the Denver scene right now. Wonder if I can actually call into stations now to talk about the Rapids and the phone screener guy won't just say "Uhhhh no one really wants to talk soccer"
Ya gotta love the bandwagon. I hope DSG park is on it's route next year. As late as a couple days ago, I saw a brief promo for channel 7 with Lionel congratulating the Rapids win on behalf of channel 7. We love winners.
Suddenly we are part of a steadily garnered loyal fan base!! From today's Denver Post: "With help from Kroenke Sports Enterprises, which owns and operates Dick's Sporting Goods Park and its professional soccer team, the Colorado Rapids, the city is rolling out a new campaign to help kick off the second phase of development at the sprawling, 917-acre site. The area will now be dubbed Victory Crossing, and officials will emphasize "the fusion of sports, commerce and wildlife" in the area, Morris said. The victory moniker could be buoyed by the recent success of the Rapids, who won the MLS Cup championship last month, the first since the club debuted in 1996. The team has steadily garnered a loyal fan base. "Simply put, we're very excited about this name," said Jeff Plush, managing director of the Rapids. Oops, I guess I should have looked here before posting this article link in the 2011 thread. Simply put, the name has nothing to do with KSE's lack of success developing the land around DSG Park.
I have refrained from pumping all the podcasts on http://NoFanAlone.com but now's the time First, if you didn't know - the website hosts: Balboa's "From the Pitch" "VI Questions with Class VI" hosted by Craig de Aragon Class VI's "Bleeding Burgundy" and the Pid Army's "Terrace Talk" I'm pumping it now because last night, Bleeding Burgundy had a special guest - Managing Director Jeff Plush
Just finished listening. Great interview. He has me dying to see the new kit. Retro Holland 1970's is how he described them. Burgundy jersey, white short, burgundy socks will be our primary look. Secondary will be white jersey, burgundy short.
I like it. Simple is better for me. The only detail needed is the scudetto. Also, if the jersey could come with a little total football magic would be a nice bonus.
I certainly hope it is this look and not the 80's/90's Holland crap Houston is putting on next season.
I think this is a cool song. Its from "The Beast" good friend Little Eye. http://soundcloud.com/littleeye/colorado-demo Enjoy...
Is there printed lyrics available? I really like the music and the lyrics I can understand, but there's so much vocal distortion I can't understand all the words! Do you know this guy? I would suggest doing a version without or with greatly reduced vocal distortion and then try to sell it to the RFO! G'Day...Ron
