Bocanegra starts at left back as usual for Saint Etienne. The match should start any minute now.

Saint Etienne is leading 2-1 now. The 2nd goal was scored by none other than Carlos Bocanegra.

Ended 2-2. Bordeaux tied it in the 89th. ASSE is 11th.

    good stuff

I just want to add that I've not been impressed by the defending in Ligue 1. Nothing against Boca btw

Bocanegra was winning just about every header on every attacking set piece opportunity during the portion of the match that I watched. That goal seemed inevitable for him.

Yep, he could have had two or three goals. He also had a shot from outside the box in added time with his right foot. Really, he had as many good opportunities as anyone else in the game -- I'd be surprised if another player came away with more shots (if we count headers as shots).

Got "5" from L'Equipe, which is a mediocre grade and even a worse grade for a goal scorer.

If you assume that the goal bumped his grade by a point, he got "4" for the rest of his actions.

    Which is rather poor.

to be fair, it was his bad on the first goal. Other than that, though, he did fine on defense and was by far St Etienne's most dangerous player. I saw the game, so I'm not just relying on ratings from other sites. I'd give him a 6.
