What i was thinking as well, plus it's very similar to the old AZT plate which is one of the best ones I've ever used.
I'm confused as to what you mean by "made at the same time," but here's what I'm talking about: Here's the regular T90 Laser soleplate. Here's the T90 Laser Elite soleplate. You can see that it's almost identical to the regular T90 soleplate only the blades have been trimmed down and are now more streamlined. Here's the CTR360 Maestri Elite soleplate. Notice that it's the exact same as the T90 Laser Elite soleplate, which is in turn the same as the regular T90 Laser soleplate. Sorry if I've just explained something you two already realized. I'm just a bit confused right now. It just comes down to preference really, though. I personally prefer the Legend plate to the Maestri, and the Maestri to the Laser. Which is why I'm disappointed that Nike is still using the Laser soleplate on the Maestri Elite.
Yeah, I've used both the CTR & Laser Elite for the last month and a half and the sole/stud config has excellent traction. There is literally no stud pressure, I couldn't be happier. I know everyone has durability concerns, but I'll just cross that bridge when I get to it.
Here's a relatively long review I did on the Total90 Laser Elite FG... still not all that convinced of Nike boots. The studs are going to fall off just like my CTR360 Elites as well. http://eugenekan.com/blog/2010/12/06/review-nike-football-total90-laser-iii-elite-fg/
I'm still a bit puzzled as to why the lacing is that way it is. I used to have Maestri Elites (3 studs fell of though) and the lacing was always irritating.
I do wonder why Nike can't recreate the ctr sole plate on the elites as all it is is a plastic mould over the carbon fibre, the legend plate isn't too dissimilar to the ctr plate really
The pictures in your reviews are always top notch. One correction though is that I don't believe either the Laser Elite or regular Laser have Kanga-Lite uppers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though. Agreed, the lacing was my only serious problem with the Maestri. Because it ran over my first metatarsal joint it applied a lot of pressure to my tendon if I laced them up tight (which I like to do). That's really a problem on my end and not Nike's, though. Looks like the CTR360 Maestri II was officially unveiled today. Soccerbible and Footy-Boots both have pages up on them.
The studs are glued on top of the carbon fibre soleplate. however Nike can easily reproduce the same soleplate on the elite and reg, but they wont because that makes the elite soleplate special. Thus charging a premium. as far as I know defenders can already choose between Vapors, Superflies, CTR360, Legends, and Laser.
I think he was wondering why they can't make an Elite soleplate with the same stud configuration as the regular Maestri
It's all marketing, any boots can be for any position Don't let what nine say put you off getting a boots for example
So whats the verdict on the CTR Elites? Are they worth it, or do they have too many durability issues? (ie studs falling off)
ok so i sent in my Vapor V's because they were all ripped up and i got a 220$ voucher ; so why the hell would they sell VAPORS for 240$? thats so annoying like now i cant get vapors. . If anyones interested in trading cash for it (if you were gonna order off nike anyway) let me kno
Is it just me or does the shape of the new maestri look different than the 1st, more banana like (idk how to describe it) I'm not to big on the little nike swoosh on the toe or the fact that they got rid of the memory foam by the press pad, nonetheless I'm probably going to get a pair out of sheer curiousity
http://www.soccer.com/channels/nikectr360/index.php?cm_mmc=spotlight1-_-120610nikectr-_-bodylink-_-ctrlanding soccer.com will have them soon..
I hope we see more nicer colourways and With the red/White and blue/whit colourways being metallic i think it's a good change as the I's were pretty hit and miss and matte, it was only at the end if the I's were we got the nicest colourways I thought
Thanks for the heads up on the Teijin Total90 upper, I made the amendment. CTR360 is better in my opinion than the Total90 based on fit. In my opinion a boot that I can work in and have conform to my foot is the most important thing as few if anybody will have the exact last that the boot was made on.
No big deal, even the Nike.com site is wrong. If you look under the description, it just mentions Kanga-Lite almost like it was pulled directly from the CTR's bio. The memory foam under the tongue goes a long way into helping the fit but I have an issue getting consistent height(seemed to have a flatter trajectory) on the ball with mine. Maybe it was just in comparison to my CTR's which have an extremely low toe box so it's effortless. Did you experience that as well?
Hey, I have a $400 dollar voucher to nike. I'm definitely not getting superflys cause the last time I had them they wrecked my feet. Soooo CTR360 Elite? or Laser III Elite?
If I were you I'd just get the Maestri non-Elite version and save the rest of the voucher for another upcoming non-Elite release. I love the extra flex of the non-Elite soleplate. Carbon fiber just isn't my thing. I guess if I had to recommend either the Laser Elite or the Maestri Elite I'd go with the Maestri, but that's just because they fit me better and I generally don't like the Laser series.
Wait till the maestri II comes out. Then grab a pair. They are the complete boot. They got the touch and comfort of a k-leather boot, the lightness of a speed boot, and control. They got a little combo of everything. Best elite boot of the series.
This, I think everyone should at least try the CTR's once. If you don't like them, there are plenty of people out there that will buy them off of you.
