    Probably most of them

That is why they said it, no?

Honestly, the US should have paid up... They know the game, they have paid it, they should have paid up

It's been a big rumor, and a sort of power play by Platini and Blatter against the big leagues.

Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, and Portugal should just tell the rest of UEFA and FIFA to piss off and start their own association.

Why don't we just change the 2018 WC to be in Jan/Feb as well. If we are going to have a world cup where heat stroke will be suffered by many, it only seems fair to have one where hypothermia is a major concern.

Why exactly? If the world cup went to England and the US, would you be calling for this?

In fact, if both nations got the world cup, would their be any shouts of corruption?

Nah, I just know bullshit... No honor amongst thieves, if you really believe the US and England and other nations have clean hands then you are very naive

The US and England both got outsmarted and did not do enough, they both knew the game and were willing to play it, they just ran into people who's money stretched longer

Do you purposely avoid the news so that you can make these ridiculous claims?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/11_november/29/panorama.shtml

Panorama was aired prior to the vote, so to suggest that no one would have said anything had the results come out differently is disingenuous at best. Corruption was always going to be an issue.

As far as I am aware, FIFA is criticized here and pretty much everywhere else all year, every year, for its corruption and stupidity.

Had we won, I doubt it would have been much different.

The clear solution to an imposing, unnecessary organization that no one likes and that just consumes money and makes everyone in the world kiss their ass for favor is not to try to kiss more ass and give more bribes than the next guy. The solution is to collectively decide to remove the unliked, unnecessary organization, in this case FIFA.

great, now answer my first question, would their have been any calls to leave FIFA if the US and English had won the bid?

also, the guy made the documentary apparently has a vendetta against FIFA

also, England attempted to fucc over Germany in 2006 when they had a gentelman's agreement not to pursue the world cup after Germany stood down for Euro 1996

like I said, everyones hands are dirty, their is no honor amongst thieves... if both nations wanted it that badly, they would have made the right moves and paid up

so that they can form their own corrupt organization?

like I said, the US and the UK knew the deal, they knew how to handle it and they failed...

should their be an investigation of FIFA? hell yeah, they are a joke organization... should they be reformed? no question about it, their needs to be true transparency

but this talk of leaving FIFA so that the big nations can have their free reign is ridiculous

I apologize for being able to see how a total outsider in Qatar got the world cup, while the experienced nations didnt...

its not that hard to see what happened, or should I just shout out CORRUPTION and BRIBES as well since I was there like so many of us, that were there, have?

dont get me wrong, its bullshit that FIFA are like this, and its embarrassing that world leaders and important figures need to bow to their commands in order to host this tournament, FIFA are fucced up completely and a disgusting organization... but like I said, everyone plays the game and reaps from it.. no use in screaming people are dirty when you are dirty yourself ('your' being all the organizations involved in FIFA)

Sure, we could have paid them in Heroin or Cocaine. As long as we're throwing morality completely out the window, why not pay them with people? We've got 300 million, who would miss a few?

The real high-end bribe was likely not the envelopes of cash or the scheduled friendlies and such. That greased the wheels, sure, but the real "bribe" that Russia and Qatar offer is something the US and the UK and Australia can't do.

Russia and Qatar have the capacity to give FIFA near total control, near unlimited funding, in a place with minimal media insight.

The point being, giving it to Qatar and Russia gives FIFA the chance to graft and steal and take advantage of the process for the next 8 and 12 years while the state and the neutered media turn away.

The USA can't do that. The USSF doesn't have the ability to say "the FBI won't investigate you," "the New York Times won't unveil your theft," etc. Similarly, other major democratic powers with strong media and at least semi-accountable government can't do that.

But the Russian bid, with a direct partnership with Putin, and the essentially state-run bid by Qatar, can offer these things.

There was no amount of bribes, favors, or anything that the USSF or the English FA could offer that would make up for that.

Yes I would. I loathe international football. I find it racist and dull and I don't know how the clubs put up with it. FIFA are an organization that the Premier League, La Liga, etc. don't need and to see them grovel to them is sad. I don't care that Qatar got the Cup. Nor Russia. I wanted to go to a WC in England because I think the event itself is pretty cool.

England's actions in this bidding process are no less sad. They played the game, let FIFA puppet them around, and then were outraged when they got f***ed. Well thats what happens to prostitutes.
