    Lol, did you see the other players he put on? Its not like he put in some weak players of Villareal's roster. Garrido put in Marcos Senna, Montero, and Nilmar. Garrido looked to be making a statement in this game and it paid off.

    Villareal is through to the second round, right? They are on 9 points while PAOK and Dinamo have 8 points and 7 points, respectively, and also have to play each other. If healthy, there is no way Jozy does not start that game.

    Yeah actually they are through, and I'm shocked because PAOK blew automatic qualification by letting Brugge tie it up in the 89th minute.

    So it should be safe to assume Jozy plays the final group match.

    It sucks cause when he starts in that match (hopefully) it will only be because they are through and will just prove that he's a failure and a bust of a player...I mean jeez, guy can't beat out scrubs like Nilmar and Rossi...

    An isolated incident?

    That guy has one brief appearance in the first four months of league play.

    Now, that was an isolated incident.

    Well, by this reasoning his failure to appear today WAS an isolated incident, as he'd appeared in every previous Europa League match (and started in all but one, I believe).

    If he were a defensive player then you might have an argument.

    no, i have an argument now, because he didn't get passed over by defenders. they were up and what did they do? bring on other forwards.

    Interesting.

    Seeing as Jozy isn't getting that much PT at Villarreal, it makes sense to move somewhere in January.

    Jozy could very well end up in Turkey this January, but my gut feeling is he's not going anywhere until the Summer.

    One of mate told me that that Jozy willing(he want) to go Bursaspor(last season champion of super league ).

    Monday interview with Bursaspor coach Ertugrul Saglam, He said to the media;
    They'r hopeing to bring Jozy at the midseason transfer period,
    He said ; The transfer talks periods with Jozy went very well, each time club and player talks about the case, it went all the way smootly. The only problem is since from the transfer session started with Jozy for his current club; $ of his club wish for.
    Bursaspor still negotiation(spell?) with the Spanish club.....
    Bursaspor since minute one likes to bring Jozy to the Club. - check-
    Jozy likes to move to the Bursaspor since the first negotiation session started with him alonside Bursaspor. - check-

    Villarreal want to sell him with the right money$ as they named for it.... -not check yet-.

    Bursaspor probably will gonna sign 3 player. All of them offensive end positions....Forwards mostly...the coach mentioned they need forwards.

    Main target since day one: Jozy.

    As I told at the above message,
    wait and see. Main contender to sign : Bursaspor. I think and heard that Bursaspor will gonna sign Him, if some last minute call dont enter from Serie a , EPL ,Bundesliga....

    cheers.

    It kind of makes sense, he was getting playing time in the cups until yesterday's game. Maybe they are holding him out due to negotiations. It doesn't seem like he's going to unseat Ruben as the #3 striker any time soon, so he should go where he can play.

    Maybe this is the stradegy(spell?) of his current club or generaly transfer case x player to polishing in few games to make value more(?) in selling period. $.
    :confused::rolleyes:

    Jozy wasting time I believe since long time... He should move to the club where He can get respectable game times ,consistendly, and get a warm supports from local fans.
    Bursaspor is good match in this line.....I gues:)
    Their coach want Him. I believe ,that can be good chance for consistend game time for Jozy.

    @RK,

    Jozy want to go Bursaspor. If He cant sign to the Bursaspor nor other club,
    that mean; His current club dosent get right offer for Him. Than,thats mean technicaly: He cant go. period.

    I'd like it if he goes to a team in italy or spain. Turkey second option. If indeed he does leave...

    I'd like to see him play in Germany over Italy. I love watching Bundesliga matches and I'd love to see more Americans in them.

    Technically, that is correct.

    But delving further into it, he started in matches that VR hoped to win in its Europa League group ... but, after losses at Zagreb and PAOK, that lineup found the club in 3rd place and the coach decided to end the tomfoolery and play the lineup that could get it the needed points.

    Which left Altidore out.

    As it did in all but one La Liga matches where no point can be forfeited in the race for the Champions League.

    So, yes, Jozy played in the King's Cup and a few other matches where VR staff felt enough comfort zone.

    But, as soon as the chips were down, he went back to the bench.

    Re: Report: Bursaspor Negotiating With Jozy Altidore

    This is good news. While it will make it harder for most of the general public to see Jozy's games, it's not like he was getting much time at Villarreal. The Turkish league is a pretty high level of play, not the EPL, Bundesliga, Serie A, or La Liga, but in that next tier of leagues along with Holland and France, just not recognized as such because it's Eastern Europe. Would potentially be a very good move.

    Re: Report: Bursaspor Negotiating With Jozy Altidore

    In my opinion, either way he can't lose (his situation at villareal isn't as bad as some people make it)....Although I'd rather him move to Bursa so he can play week in and out......

    it is not bad-he just isn't playing. I am sure the food is good, people are very very nice and he gets paid. But come game day, he is watching, not playing.
