    LOL

They brought in Zigic, Beasejour and Hleb to replace Chucho, and none of them have worked out yet. I don't really wish them to get relegated, but hopefully as the season goes on they realize that they let a good player go.

Sorry but 3 goals in 30+ games is not a good player and a forward to boot, regardless on how the team plays.

I saw that too Benfica wants Chucho. Not a bad league to go to, he'd fit in well i think. Benfica has showed interest in Benitez several times in the past. This needs to be a serious option for him.

That league is similar to the Dutch and Scottish leagues. Porto and Benfica run rampant. He'd score 40 goals a season there.

They're currently in second place. Chucho in the Champions League would be fantastic.

Di Maria played for Benfica. Scored 8 goals and cost Madrid €25 million. Talk about being another overrated argentinean....

    Re: Christian Benitez

Di Maria is overpriced which makes him overrated, then again, anyone Madrid tries to sign/signs is overpriced. I've never seen so many shots over goal in one game then when he plays.

    Re: Christian Benitez

yea he didn't have much room to dribble. But his teammates didn't help either, they hardly gave him the ball and never spotted him when he would try and sneak behind their defense. He had one chance in the first half but couldn't net the goal, i think he was still feeling the effects from that kicked he received to his head that looked painful. Congrats to Chucho tho for an amazing personal season, i cant see anything but positives from now on in his career.

    Re: Christian Benitez

I heard he missed a 1on1. He can score all the goals he wants but when it counts he never turns up. We will see how he actually does in Copa America.

Not hating, the guy is still a very good player. Just pointing out what a great job Monterrey did against him after he just destroyed the league during the regular season.

Didn't watch the game but when shit is on the line..... did he really miss a 1 on 1? It might be a tight game in the finals of the mexican league but its that tight in every single game in the prem league.

    Re: Christian Benitez

it was a semi 1 on 1 ...makes no sense but yea... Monterrey defender passed the ball back to the keeper and chucho intercepted it at the same time another defender was on him and made it harder for him to score.
Just minutes before he was kicked in his head but a Monterrey player and it looked pretty painful so maybe that had something to do with it.
It certainly wasnt a break away one on one tho.

    Re: Christian Benitez

Honestly, the kick in the head might be the only excuse...he had literally just walked back on the field and the guy passed the ball to him - he probably thought he was still off the field!

Either way, this game shows the difference between Chucho and Chupete Suazo. Suazo won't miss those chances.

    Re: Christian Benitez

yup, Chupete's better and he's proved it in the long run. But then again, his team facilitates his playing way better than Santos does for Benitez. You take out Benitez and Quintero from Santos and that teams just sorry. I've seen Monterrey play games without Suazo and they still maintain a strong collective game. Santos can't do that. If there was one time and one season in Benitez's life where he should not be bashed, it's this one.

Anybody hear any rumors of him leaving Santos besides the Benfica and Celtic offer?

he should go to holland. They play absolutely no defense up there. Perlaza from Barcelona could be a super star up there.
