About time we had this. Bremen kicked out Sampdoria of the CL in a thrilling match 2 days ago, and now the group stages got drawn:

Bremen in A vs Inter, Tottenham and Twente; Schalke in B vs Lyon, Benfica and Tel Aviv; and Bayern in E vs Roma, Basel and Cluj. All doable I guess.

    Europa League:

Bayer, Dortmund and Stuttgart are trying to qualify for the group stage.

Group A looks threatening. Imho the second strongest group in this year's CL. Bremen will struggle.

Wesley better be good, Naldo and Almeida should get back as soon as possible and some replacement for the clown that took over Borowski's body should be found quickly.

Bayern and Schalke, yep, they should be able to advance.

What stands out to me is that we will see more Germany-Italy duels. Bayern-Roma and Bremen-Inter. Battle it out for that 4th CL spot!

All teams managed to enter the group stage. Not many leagues reached this. Congrats to all BL sides. :)

So why do the clubs that do quite well the season before ALWAYS struggle when the new season starts. I mean whatever club we send, they not only crash out the CL, they also seem to have trouble getting their pace up domestically.

Yep, same procedure as every year... :(

And this year it is extreme. It's hard to find one German team in the CL/EL that does not currently suck. BVB maybe, and that's it!

Good that Inter didn't win either. Hopefully Bayern can somehow get 3 points against Rome.

Bremen turned the match vs. Tottenham, Schalke had an individual mistake and Bayern kept cool and decided the match vs. a very defensive side.

I don't think it is as bad as you make it.

I expect three wins tonight in the El. In case my expectations are correct, Germany has a very decent first international game-day with 4w - 1d - 1l.

I was referring to our club's Bundesliga performances actually. Only Dortmund has played really well there so far.

Fortunately the CL/EL performances were significantly better. Though I didn't like Schalke's showing to be honest. Yes, it was very unlucky, but they didn't play as nearly as good as they should considering their great midfield/forwards.

Yeah, my initial comment was more about their current form taking BL and CL together. I wouldn't lean myself that far out of the window for one matchday in the CL.

I'm more pissed at Bayern to be honest. I don't expect anything from Werder this season anyway, so no surprise there. Bayern should have gotten a draw at least.

Well, hopefully we'll do better in the Euro League.

Bayern and Schalke are first in the UCL groups, you losers cant even menage a EL group, so see for yourself now, even you are that smart.

Cmon show some respect, will ya? Even myself as Bayern fan cant understand how winning comfortably 2-0 at half time manage to lose that advantage and even lose at the end. Completely pathetic. Things like that cant happen. As for Dortmund, the next two fixtures will show what their made of.

-16°C in Trondheim and Bender and Helmes wearing short-sleeved jerseys.

Bern's pitch was better suited for a skiing competition than soccer, massive amounts of snow coming down.

Juve is out and Samp having lost might crash out too. It is not impossible that none of the 4 Italian clubs in the EL will still play there next year. If Dortmund somehow manages to advance - and they do have the potential to do that - I can see a lot of points for us over the Italans.

The other way round, Sampdoria having lost is out, while Juventus could still qualify.

They are out. The first tie-breaker is head-to-head.

It's not that they might, they already have. :p Both Juve and Samp are out. If both Italian teams loose tomorrow, they will mathetically out as well. I hope Dortmund win while PSG doesn't for obvious reasons.

I really liked the title of "We want our CL spot back" rather than this, it's rather boring.
