Suazo has the same issue as Benitez - he's worth too much to Monterrey. Suazo scored 6 goals in 17 appearances for Zaragoza, but they didn't buy him due to Monterrey requesting 10M Euros. The only thing is that Suazo is 29 whereas Chucho is 24.

Mexico is a big country with a huge TV market in both Mexico and the US. Top players probably make over $1M per year. So these teams would rather keep their players and win championships than sell them for peanuts to crappy EPL or La Liga teams. Maybe it's a good thing for futbol in the Americas that we start keeping some of our top players, instead of selling them as soon as they turn 17 to become part of the European player factories.

If only Brazil and Argentina would do the same. A copa libertadores with the best south american players would be better than any champions league bull crap.:p

So you rather keep Ecuadorian footballers in Ecuador? I guarantee you that those Crappy EPL Club would take out 95 percent of the clubs over there and here just by the sheer opponents they face is tremendous. Playing for Wigan against the rest of the EPL is worth more than in some Country where futbol is compared to Telenovelas. I'll sell 17 years old ALL GOD DAMN DAY to europe. get them out and start working on the next kid.

Why does everything have to depend on us? Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia etc..etc. should do the same.

    Re: Christian Benitez

You guys have a better chance of exporting "shit" than the countries you mentioned. Argentina and brazil have better players can't argue with that, but there are some of them that are so mediocre but the fact that they are from those countries all of a sudden makes them better. It is seen in all those extranjeros the ecuadorian teams bring in. Some are good but then there are some who are just taking advantage of the U.S. dollar.

What do you mean by shit? Bieler, Barcos, Araujo, manso. I think Ecuador has benefited from our "Shit" more than any other country in South America these last years. Its not our fault you buy those players that fail. Do your homework before you buy them or better yet, Build your own infracstructure to produce players. I believed Ecuador could produce Great footballers long before some of you were born.

Yeah that's not the players fault its obviously the club. That's what I like about Cuenca. They buy good extranjeros like mendes and escalada unlike macara who bought that shit player fereira.macara is the worst when it comes to these situations. Ecuadorian clubs should be smarter with the players they buy.

    Re: Christian Benitez

Macara doesn't have sufficient funds to purchase top quality players. and neither do most clubs that aren't named Liga, Emelec, D.Quito, Barcelona, and to some extent D.Cuenca. El Nacional struggles but it's one of the more attractive teams to play for in Ecuador even if their not in an international competition. Not because of the salary you can attain each season but b/c of it's reputation.

Macara isn't the worst team at purchasing players, Barcelona is. In Barcelona, EVERY SEASON it's a miracle if you get one good foreigner out of the 3 or 4 that join. Last season and this season it has remained at Matias Oyola, other than him theres not one top quality footballer that they have purchased.

Brazil is starting to. The past few years have seen Brazil start buying top players from other South American countries. At this point, in terms of economics, Brazil is competitive to 2nd tier Euro leagues and bottom teams of the top leagues. Obviously the top players will be sold, but I think over the coming years, with Brazil's economic growth we will see more players stay in Brazil because they will be worth more to their teams by winning matches than by selling them.

    Birmingham 2-3 Stoke

This team can't win. Saw like 20 minutes of their game against West Ham last Saturday, what a snooze fest, could barely get past the midfield. Maybe it would help if they didn't pass the ball backwards all the time. Hopefully Chucho makes it to a big team.

They brought in 3 players during the summer - Beausejour, Zigic and Hleb - none of which seem to be working out. They are now in 16th place and looking worse each game.

I think as time passes by, the fact that the team did so well with Chucho will no longer be seen as a coincidence.

that'd be sick, i've always wanted to see an ecuadorian player play for either Celtic or Rangers. Ulises was close to playing for Rangers years ago i remember.

Chucho would tear that league apart. There's no competition on it other than Rangers. It's the closest thing to a two team league I know. Wonder where these rumors come from?

Yeah, not to be too negative but can't say I'd be thrilled with that move. I think Chucho has the talent to go to a better league in Europe and he's shown it this season.

    Re: Christian Benitez

Well, playing in Scotland does give him a better chance of getting picked up by another EPL side.

Mexico and Ecuador leagues are probably better overall but English managers (a few of which are Scottish) won't believe that.

And as far as the NT is concerned, it's much better for him to be playing and scoring goals every week on a team that wins in an OK league, than to play on a bottom EPL or La Liga team that gets stomped every week, where he'll barely even get the ball.

The Scottish League might be weak overall, but Celtic and Rangers are always playing in Europe...so if it is one of those two clubs, I'd be happy.
