I heard he had the audacity to have a bowel movement within 24 hours of being kicked out of the playoffs. Chris Klein loves the MLS so he always waited at least 72 hours to take the browns to the superbowl. Srs bzness!!!11!

Quite. You could also see this as a positive for the league, the media would report "Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry was at last night's basketball game..."

    No

    Yes

It might have something to do with the fact that his home in Barcelona isn't a short limo ride from Madison Square Garden. It also helps that one of he best friends is Spike Lee, who according to rumors is a bit of a Knicks fan.

Not to muddle your retarded opinions up with facts, but Beckham's first season was really just a half season as he didn't join the team until July, and then promptly injured his knee in an exhibition game. I wouldn't call getting hurt and missing most of the season sucking.

As far as his second season, Beckham led the Galaxy in assists and ranked in the top 5 in MLS in assists that same year.

But like I said, lets not let facts muddle up your retardedly warped opinions.

Jeez Louise there are so many soccer snobs on this site. You make one thread where nobody agrees with your opinion and all the sudden everyone is questioning my intelligence. I'm sorry if you guys don't agree with me but my opinion stands. I thought forums were a place for people to express their opinion without being attacked? Nobody told anyone to post in this thread you could have just passed over it instead of getting nasty. oh well....

the reason why the OP has been so harshly criticized is because he clearly questioned Henry's desire/character/work eithic/love for the game which is a pretty major character judgement. the only problem was that his 'proof' was just a picture of him sitting in a chair at a basketball game after the season was over. Honestly at first i thought it was a joke.

Now I am a Henry fan, but if there was a pic of him doing drugs or drinking before the night of the game or something that actually shows that the guy does not care about his team or career, than the point would be valid. But the guy is a human being, and this is a free country. I bust my ass at work every day but that doesn't mean that no matter how hard i worked or how tough of a day i had, I can't go watch a game at the end of the day to relax. Henry watched a basketball game, it says nothing about anything other than henry likes basketball. Don't attack a player's character unless you have something more substantial than 'he likes basketball'.

Well, it was that and the fact that he kept coming back to defend his position and wouldn't back down. I think the whole thing would have ended quickly and more or less civilly if it hadn't been for that.

Everybody has dumb opinions from time to time, but those who don't have the good sense to back off deserve their bollocking.

This. When every single person in a room is telling you that you are overreacting and your are flat out wrong, at some point a sane, rational, intelligent person would look at themselves and consider the possibility that maybe they are way off base.

The OP hasn't demonstrated the ability to do this.

And it is in our opinion your observation, and your follow up attempts to justify it, are misguided. What's the matter, can't we express our opinions too?
