The play had already been blown dead before Busch took Angel down. I think the ref called a foul on Angel for discarding the last defender. The non-play continued and Busch committed his nasty takedown which earned him a yellow. A shame about the prior foul, because absent that it would have certainly been a red and a PK.

Exactly that is my point, I have posting hundred time over asking to play the Kids before the Play off were here, to find out if one of them will be ready or not for this events, but Backe never even try and is his fault that Agudelo wasn't ready to play when he need him....

I will not say nothing if some body criticized Angel that at 2M Dollars players have nothing to show, the same the miss of Henry, but Agudelo a rookie of 17 years old?...Come on....

Next season cannot come soon enough. For me personally this is the most disappointing season we have ever had.

Maybe the play off is a disappointment, but the season was something refreshment compare with the last year one, so from last place to be the Champs was a step to big for us and maybe for any team around, and always be a next years and with the core of players that we have now next season will be easy to build a good team to win a championship....I think that Henry, Rafa, Ream and Agudelo will have a fantastic year and per-se we will win the CUP....

Agreed. No matter how bad this loss is, this club has come a long way. And for once it looks like we can build on something and not have to tear it down and start all over.

Stop it everybody has to stop this worst to first bullshit. We finished first in the east during the regular season and like it or not, in american sports that doesnt mean shit. We arent champions of anything, was it an accomplishment? Yes but it is not a championship or a worst to first season.

It's true that in the end it doesn't mean anything but it does show how far this team came in only a year. This team is in a much better place than most people thought we would be after the JCO debacle.

Does this loss remind you of the NY playoff win in Houston two years ago, only in reverse? The stunned looks on the RB fans reminded me of the way we felt after that game, no one expected the Dynamo would lose to NY that year. NY was terrible on the road, they had barely even gotten to the playoffs, Dynamo was great at home.... then suddenly, after 90 minutes, it was all over. I wouldn't wish that feeling on anyone we're not playing against.

I was also there at HDC for the finals that same year (having bought my tickets early expecting to see the Dynamo there.) I was in the group of Dynamo fans sitting right next to the RBs supporters. I honestly didn't care who won that game, but I did feel bad for yall after the roller coaster of emotions of that game. That too reminded me of Thursday's game.

Last year the Dynamo lost the semifinal at HDC. We thought we had scored a goal in regulation time, but had it taken away mysteriously by the ref then lost in overtime. I was there for that emotional game too. After that loss, we thought this year would be another step upward. Obviously it wasn't and we are at home watching all the playoffs. :(

So, good luck next year. We never found the groove after a devastating end to our playoffs last year. Hopefully yall will have more success. It's not as much fun the other way....

Ah...Come on, no be a pessimist, I don't think that we in 16 years have a core of players like the ones we have right now, is just 3/4 players that we need in a strategic places to be if not the best team, one of the best on the league and that have to fill up us with optimism, next year we will have 30 men in place, that mean that the 20 Sr. players we can filled with first class footballers and enough players on the bench and substitutes to stand the rigors of the season and more...Remember we were 16 teams this year and we wasn't the best of them, if we were in the first place was because the rest of the team on the west was worst than us and not because we were better than them....Exactly like 2008, that we win because the rest of the team loose and we with out win a game classified for the play off....This time isn't to different, our division was like the kingdom of blinds, that one fellow with one eye was the king...

I am amazed at all these new people posting who have railed against Agudelo and even suggesting that he was any sort of a problem. I was at the game and came home and watched it again. This guy showed poise and had the most dangerous opportunities which he created and the goal scored by Angel was all him. He himself later said that he just needs to work on his finishing. This guy is 17 (almost 18) and his shots while not in the goal (except one that was just wide) were on goal and had pace. This is much more than can be said of Angel who yes moves like a snail and no longer is dangerous.

On know I am not alone on this, but mark my words, Agudelo will be a star next year. I can't wait to see him with a healthy Henry and a DP attacking midfielder and I hope a much better Marquez and of course Lindpere, Ream, Richards, Tchani, our new Norwegian wherever he plays (I believe right back), maybe a healthy Nilsson, hopefully Garcia, etc... This sucks that we lost this game and are out of the playoffs, but I can't help but think how good we will be next season.

On that game any player was looking better than Angel, and Agudelo by far was the best man of all, he hold the ball like a pro, shut better than any body else, he will be much better than Josy starting next year and I hope the RB don't commit the same mistake that did with Josy letting him go and sing him at least for three more years asap....with the option that they will convert him at the end of that three years when the contracts of Henry and Rafa ended in one of the DPs of the team, we have to hold in one of us own players and Agudelo is the one to start with....

Get real. This was a great season in a great brand new stadium. Lots to be excited about next year. Ream, Agudelo, a new DP, etc.

When a handful of regular contributors get injured in the playoffs, you don't put away your chances, and Bobby Convery decides to play the game of his life you are going to be upset.

It sucks and I'm still angry, but we should all move on.

Don't get me wrong. This was a great season right from the first game. It was a lot of fun. But this was one of the best chances we had to win the whole thing. Those don't come around very often for this team.

So we need to build on this year and move forward, I agree.

This is exactly why I said to stop with all this positive crap about the season being tossed around right after we were eliminated. With this club who knows when we'll have as good a chance as we did this year. Things finally looked as if they were going to fall into place and we blew it yet again. Hopefully as people are saying we can build on it and not take a step back next year because things are finally starting to look up long term for this club.

Completely agree, which is why I disagreed every step of the way with the Hans Backe quotes talking about "next year", etc. This team was definitely good enough to win the MLS Cup, and we are rarely going to have a better path through the playoffs to do so.

At a minimum we should have made it to the next round.

Yes it's a nice bounce back from last year, but it was also a wasted opportunity.

Backe can't finish chances for our guys. We created tons of chances. San Jose didn't...but they put theirs away.

If Henry had another chance than a header we could all be looking forward to a game later this week. I love Backe and think he's done a great job but I remain bewildered over how long Henry was standing there on the touchline. Anyone know how long it was? How long from when he left the bench to warm up and then how long he waited on the touchline after warming up?
