Can't blame Jol for the way many players simply lack the basics that you need to actually compete as a professional footballer. And a lot of this crap goes back way further than our Dick.
We can and we have to blame Jol for the fact that we play worse football than the likes of Excelsior, Utrecht and Ado. This is not about "missing the basics". This is about a manager that has no clue how to train a team. Well clearly Alderweireld is behind Ooijer and Oleguer in the picking order for some unknown reason. Otherwise Alderweireld would have been the right back, he plays that position for Belgium after all. We should just suspend and/or ignore Jol. Put Blind, De Boer or Bergkamp in charge for the rest of the season.
Then explain to me how Ajax has been shit way before Jol ever got here? And why at times it's not even all that bad? I'm not saying Jol is doing a great job. But I am saying that sacking another coach will not solve the problems that we've had for quite some years now. It won't help one bit.
Even Emmanuelsson admitted today that they're relying on Suarez and El Hamdaoui too much. I think the coach has something to do with that at least. Jol's constant whingeing and looking for excuses also pisses me off but hey I'm a Twente fan I won't bore anyone on here with that. Maybe the best thing that could happen to you as a club is if you were to sell both Suarez and El Hamdaoui. That way Jol would be forced to actually come up with ideas and make them play like a team.
Or play as a team with Suarez and El Hamdaoui Ajax midfield is average at most, but even with these players it should be possible to play much better in that area.
Average? I think not. Can anyone explain what position Siem de Jong plays? Look at how many touches he had in the match today, I think it was in the single digits but he's listed as a mid-fielder. Lindgren works hard but has limitations. Enoh has been quite bad all season much to my surprise. I can't say anything good about de Zeeuw at this point. If we string together two passes in the midfield it is cause for jubilation.
11 tegen 11 has it pretty much right: http://11tegen11.wordpress.com/2010/11/07/ajax-0-–-1-ado-analyzing-jol’s-tactical-failings/ I wonder if Jol knows how to use the Internet?
john van den brom as our next coach, when we fail to land rijkaard 1. advised us to get both chadli and mertens when he was coach at agovv which shows his ajax heart. 2. recommends his best player (again) at ado, verhoek, to ajax. 3. brought antonia in who came from the ajax academy. 4. played in one of the more succesful ajax sides. 5. ado are playing well over their potential under him.
Why do you find this hard to believe. The first step towards denial is to blame someone else for your failings. The only way he gets this kind of money is to sell players. van den Boog is not going to lead the club into this kind of financial ruin (at least I hope not). Look at the starting 11 he puts on the field. Every player has at one point been capped by their NT and of those Suarez, el Hamdaoui, Vertonghen, Stekelenburg, van der Wiel, and Enoh are in their nation's starting 11 most of the time! What other team in the league can make this claim. Jol is delusional.
It is pretty disgusting. Money is not the solution here. If Jol is so concerned about not having a winger he is in luck. We have a talented young right footed winger and his name is Jozefzoon. Every time he has played he has contributed positively with good running and nice crosses. He's not Dzudszak but the incredible thing is that he doesn't cost us any money. It's been mentioned before but if Jol is going to play what effectively amounts to a 4-3-2-1 or even a 4-1-4-1, play El Hamdaoui or Suarez as the support striker. De Jong is not cutting it in that position. He's too slow in his movements and only seems to be effective with the ball when he is in position to finish.
Besides he got Mido Tanio (or is it Tainio, you know who I mean) and Ooijer. What Ooijer makes in a year alone is more than what we at Twente paid for Chadli HA!! He's complaining about not having wingers. Surely the whole point of a coach is that he gets the best out of the player material available to him. If you don't have wingers, play a 4-4-2 without wingers. It's not rocket science is it. All clubs have to make do with limited resources.
My thoughts exactly. Which would be pretty immoral mind seeing that he's probably got a big fat pay-off clause in his contract.
The next Ajax manager to show some balls in the face of adversity and lead this club to a league title will be legendary.
Cliffs: -Johan Cruijff is always right. -The only member of the 24-headed directors board who has actually played for Ajax 1 has resigned last week. Ajax kept it quiet. -Almost everybody, especially the management and board of directors, gots to go.
Cost of chadli; 400,000. According to AGOVV. Ajax spend 72% of budget on player wages. According to the Dutch FA. You do the math.
Sigh. You know what I meant. With a wage structure like that even someone like Jozefzoon is likely to make more than 400,000 a year. The point being that Jol shouldn't whinge about having limited resources as even with limited resources there's still bargains to be had if scouts do their job.
