Looks like Harry is gonna be on a boycott..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/9145368.stm Oh dear....what shall we do.
This isn't funny! Listening to 'Arry spout on about Spurs being a big club is the comedy highlight of my week. Throw in a few good twiches and you get comedy gold. BCMA
Shit, mods, can we make this the new title? I like it, and it'll keep the Sp*rs-identified closet Gooners in line.
And what hilarity will ensue tonight? "I’d Rather Pass a Kidney Stone than Another Night With You" The Tottenham thread!
Reminds me of a customer I had to deal with at work recently. She was obnoxious and rude, and as she was leaving the store she blurted out "I'm never coming back here again" as if it was some kind of threat to me. I though, oh, you aren't coming back? Sounds good to me!
Had a somewhat similar situation with a regular at my local pub. He got into a bit of a tiff with the owners, and said that he would never come back, and that it would hurt them, because he had many friends that were sitting at the bar, who would support his actions. We all just kinda looked up from our glass, for a moment.... ......and then bade him a fond adieu. Two days later, he came back into the bar......ordered a drink, and said: "I didn't think it was fair that my friends should suffer, because of me". What??? Wait......we did what now????? I'm also quite sure, that we shall now never hear the end of Harry in the media, after today.
Look at the bright side: Harry's mouth flapping guarantees us perpetual laughs about Twattingham. Oh Look! a Double Rainbow!
the best thing about you lot's tottenham threads is the way the bar keeps moving. "champions' league? you're having a laugh!" ... we finish 4th. "it'll just be that much funnier when they don't qualify for the group stage." ... job done. "ha! can't wait 'til inter put them in their place. welcome to the big time, spuds." ... europe's champions comprehensively beaten at the lane. i understand, of course. we've all got to get our joy where we can. it must be getting tough, though, if this is what it's come to. yes ... yes, we will get raided for bale. he's clearly good enough that he'd have the world's biggest, obscenest(sic) spenders offering ludicrous money, regardless of where he plays. at least, in the meantime, his every comment is that he wants to continue his development at spurs, and stay to be a part of what he feels the club is sure to accomplish ... as opposed to, say, making it perfectly clear that he'd rather play for a bigger, more prestigious club. like ... oh, i don't know ... barcelona, or something. that said, i don't mean to come off critical of your spurs threads; or of you fellas' commitment to maintaining one at all times. it's a laudable endeavor, to be sure. frankly, i'd encourage other club forums to do the same.
what? in the league cup? i know i would ... but then, i thought you fellas were above caring about that one. ... and the bar keeps moving.
Where did I say that I care about winning the Carling Cup? I said we can still always laugh at spanking you at your place.
well, i'm not sure that you did, in so many words. but if you'd care to dig around in the archives - around, oh, the '98 league cup semi - you'll find ample evidence that gooners, generally speaking, found celebrating a league cup win an indicator of limited abilities and aspirations. that said, i agree emphatically with your implication that any NLD win is worth celebrating. it is, however, a premise that is slightly undermined by the inverse suggestion that some losses aren't worth lamenting. not that you did, mind, so fair enough. but quite a few here ...
a 1st string vs 2nd string win does little for me.. but then again, you've never won that kind of match. yet yall make dvd's about it. hell, yall make dvd's about draws. seriously pook, are you embarrassed by the dvd thing?
inter milan are awful under rafa, he is clueless tactically/subsitutions and spurs have spent about 349507894367 million on their squad, u should've been in this position years ago
so true. half the comedy was them spending all that money and still getting thrashed at home by scunthorpe united.
fair enough. they mean alot to me, though ... and i don't care which team it is that puts out the weakened side. we put out youth players against shakhtar in the UEFA cup a couple seasons back, and when we came up short, i was not in the slightest pacified or less engaged than i would have been had we 'gone for it'. furthermore, i do not in any way presume that shakhtar should feel their victory less meaningful. we may be talking about de-prioritized competitions, but we are not talking about youth matches. you put your team out and you play. shakhtar couldn't pick our team ... we couldn't pick your team (in that semi) ... i'm not sure i can find understand the pride in saying "well, we just cared less than you". i mean, care or don't care if you want - it's not my intention to sound all preachy about it. and i'll gladly concede that some of your fellas didn't seem to care all that much when you beat us in the league cup ... so fair play that it's not (always) just a 'sour grapes' thing. but i certainly care ... whether others do or not. obviously, i'd prefer that you lot be miserable after we've bettered you , but that's not what matters in the end. i care every time spurs play. a bit, yes.
i think our record vs you over the past decade speaks for itself. you might have the worst derby record of any team there is, in any country.
