Nice, it's an option that forces Orlando Magic and others to defend Udonis. You're nuts if you're not doubling Wade and you're nuts if you're not doubling James. You can't cover Bosh, which means you have to have defenders rolling off one of the Bigs. You know what that means? That means to win you have to either shoot the lights out or for two of the three Heat's bigs to have a bad day.
He's a 10.0 point per game scorer with a .499 FG%. Stats suggest you can not. How many role players shoot at a 50% clip in the NBA? And, tonight, he had another double-double and was Heat's third best scorer and a top rebounder (despite coming off the bench)
Well, saw the entire Heat-Midge last night. Impressice defense from Miami although Carter leaving early and Howard getting in foul trouble helped. Again, what stood out was the bad ass intro they've got in Miami. Phill collins than Nas, nice.
He shoots about 42% from midrange. That's a percentage you can live with, comfortably. Lets not turn Udonis Haslem into something he's not. Anyway, the Heat looked good last night defensively, although you have to say, the Magic missed a remarkable amount of wide open 3s. Interesting to see Howard get a new post game though - maybe working out with Hakeem really made a difference. Too bad the rest of the magic were positively awful. And, to be fair, the Wolves actually beat the Bucks - good on them.
What do you think the shooting percentages are for most "shooting" players from any sort of distance? 40% - 50% range fits them all. But if you don't guard him he'll drop 25 on you as Udonis has done on few occasions.
He made 3 and dropped 19 points in the first half alone - I can't recall him doing that once last year. That's completely false. Midrange/long range 2s are, statistically, the worst shots in the game and there are tons of players who make them below 40%. Whereas shots at the rim are converted with far higher frequency. Its Udonis ********ing Haslem we're talking about, not Mark Price. If his shooting is so great, why did he average less than 10 points a game last season with the Heat desperate for offense?
Lakers are still the team to beat, so much depth off the bench with guys like Steve Blake, Matt Barnes, Shannon Brown and Lamar Odom. And Gasol looks phenomenal, is their a better passing forward in the league?
This is the best 5 guard rotation I remember us have since Magic's days. Gasol is a center, 'till December - but he is improving every year - which truly surprises me - c'mon they brushed aside Suns in Phoenix, like Tuzik and a ssanaya tryapka.
Yeah, they're really impressive. And the west definitely isn't as strong as the east, they should be able to cruise to 55-60 wins and 1st place in the conference, whereas Miami will have to go through Boston, Orlando, and a couple other tough teams just to get to the finals. In the west, I think Phoenix and San Antonio are clearly on the decline, although the latter could make one more run if Parker, Duncan and Ginobli stay healthy, and if Richard Jefferson plays better. I like Oklahoma City's young team, but don't fancy their chances against LA.
Because despite his somewhat substandard height, Udonis frequently played as a center, not a PF that he is. Besides, he plays with someone named Dwyane Wade, who nobody could not stop, not the double teams, not the triple teams.
So when teams completely bottled up Wade, why wasn't Haslem hitting all these jumpers he's so good at? Wade faced triple teams at times last season.
Because no one truly stopped Wade (triple teams and all). The 4 or 5 matches that Wade had been TRULY stopped, Haslem was one of Heat's two top scorers (with Beasley)
Well, he often plays guard. I'm talking about a guy who passes from the post like Gasol. Lakers are my favourite team to watch, I really enjoy that triangle offense.
I must have missed the Heat championship parade last year if no one truly stopped Wade. If Wade is so good that he's unstoppable, and Miami played such good defense last year (which they did), how did they ever lose?
I must have missed Miami playing a good defense last year. It was a running joke around town that Miami can't stop anyone
