it seemed most people liked Edgar for the most part, save for the fact that he counted as an SI (and i'm included in that)...i liked to think he was a poor man's DMB, and there were times when he looked really good out on the left wing for us, yet at the same time, i was not at all comfortable with his defensive abilities...he probably still could've helped us on the wing this year assuming we improved our defense, but unfortunately his status as an international is what it is..

Every team needs a player that has some individual talent with the ball. He was ours, but now he's gone. Lets see what Vaca comes up with.

Edgar; Not SI worthy but if gets a green card is green card worthy. Mediocre Si but a serviceable player overall.

Seldom does one player generate this much agreement. There must be someone out there who thinks Edgar was the worst player in MLS history or the best defender to ever play in MLS.

I think Edgar was the worst player in MLS history and the best defender in MLS history. So there.

If Edgar had a green card, he's still on Metro. He doesn't so he isn't. You can't knock letting him go until you see who the SI they bring in to replace him is.

If it's someone pretty damn good (not Rivaldo, but someone realistic), then it's worth it. If we sign the Ivory Coast's version of Fausto Klinger, then it was a bad move.

    Bit of patience.

Edgar was decent at best with the ball at his feet... he used the same move every time.

I posted the above quote on July 3 of last year, after the July 2 Metro-Earthquake match. It has always been in the back of my mind whenever I watched Edgar playing.

Unfortunately, it will be the play I remember most about the guy.

He was without a doubt a part of our best game last year...in New England...other then the keeper/Kante goal..he won that thing for us....some of the one on one moves he made were very clever. Always gotta give him an extra bit of love for making Timmy's goodbye even better.

Hopefully he'll get some A-League ball and stay with the Leaf's national squad.
