they have previous. they were at it outside the ground too, even attacking their own players, injurying the reserve keeper. think they went nuts after their home defeat a few days ago too.
hopefully an automatic 3-0 win for italy and even more hopefully more points docked or kicked out :D

Eh, it's pretty damn shameful that UK television always refers to "Ireland" as this strange entity called "The Republic".

    It's frickin' Ireland, FFS. :D

pathetic. lazy. extremely uncreative. 4 centre backs in defence, a right back in midfield and 2 forwards who need dropped.
typical worthington picking his favs and ignoring other players on the edge of the squad who could easily have contributed and would have worked their asses off once given a chance.
still, it's ALWAYS the case, do better than we should against the bigger teams then fall apart against the smaller teams, especially away.

strictly speaking it is and it isn't, both at the same time. the country's name is ireland, but if you are speaking about the country and not the island the official designation is the republic of ireland, and the football team is 100% republic of ireland. that's irish for ya ;)
it's a bit like calling the USA just america, when america is more than the total of the USA.

I like Parkhurst for the U.S. Calm and collected. I think he's the heir apparent to Spector.

Isn't 24 a little young for a player to have an "heir apparent"?

Especially when that "heir apparent" is 26.

Bob Bradley is a moron. Playing a 4-3-3 with the personnel he put out is beyond ridiculous. A midfield of Edu, Jones, and Bradley is a bit redundant, no. If your going to play 3 in midfield at least put stuey in there. Jones, Bradley, and Holden might work and it might not but the one he put out had no shot at creating anything.

We needed to try out the different combinations of cm for a 4-4-2. Jones/Bradley
    Jones/Holden
    Bradley/Holden
    Edu/Holden

Holden will prove to be the best cm by the end of this cycle. Bradley is wasting him on the wing right now

    LOL

Parkhurst plays CB, whereas Spector plays RB for the national team

Spector is one of the most overrated players the US has, imo

Wait, Spector is only 26? I definitely thought he was older. Nevermind then.

I disagree about Spector being overrated though.

Eric Lichaj looked pretty good at RB. I thought Heath Pearce did well at LB last night against speedy players.

Why for once can we not see a creative #9 behind Altidore? Would it kill to give the likes of Chris Rolfe a good look? How many more matches do we have to watch Eddie Johnson backpassing instead of taking players on 1v1?

And why oh why is Benny Feilhaber playing on the wing?

I thought Jermaine Jones is the overrated one. Very similar to Bradley. I'd rather see Edu and Bradley/Jones versus all three.

Makes sense since he plays like a 36 year-old.

Jones is a better version of Bradley... if anyone sits, it needs to be Bradley, but that wont happen

    Feilhaber is a utility man

I am always critical of Eddie Johnson, but he did good yesterday... the midfield got into the game more when he came on because he could hold up the ball, something Jozy still has not learned to do

and Jozy needs to make better runs and finish his chances, we play Dempsey behind him and its the exact same...

    this is a fair point...

I thought Michael Bradley would be better by now... doesn't seem like he's grown much as a player in the last year.

I'm not sure it applies to this thread, but I thought it worth a mention: There's a football-related Tube map that's just been released. Some of the names are pretty clever, but there's one that's ridiculously repetitive.

Interesting. I guess he would be the man to talk to about getting a new stadium built.

I read that the RedSox guys were talking about redeveloping Anfield, which I think is a much better idea. Like the Sox, Liverpool's history is a big part of it's value, and like Fenway Park, Anfield is a huge piece of that history.

It seems like they want to rebuild the team and win on a sustainable budget. So i'm sure he told them to hire Wenger. ;)
