If there's any kind of argument or quarrel, and it happens to involve Cassano (directly or indirectly) then I can assure you it'll get a lot of attention. The media loves making a big issue out of things like this involving Cassano, based on his history alone. They know that fans like us will wanna read into it as soon as a headline involving his name pops up. Antonio will never shake off his checkered past, and unfortunately, it'll be a monkey on his back for the rest of his career, no matter how well-behaved he is or may become.

Yes I get that. But the media have to fill pages. Doesn't mean it matters. They say a relationship isn't meaningful until you've had your first real fight. As long as it doesn't linger it's actually a good thing.

Italy if you guys want to make more of an impact for EURO 2012, you guys have to build around your youth, go younger, have younger guys in the team to replace the veterans because the veterans aren't cutting it anymore.

Like for example including players like Santon, Santacroce, Pazzini, Acquafresca, Cassano, Balotelli, etc., and building around them

Because then that way Italy will be seen as more of a darkhorse when it comes to EURO 2012, and we can see a new direction of a younger Azzurri squad, who knows if you guys do that, you guys can win EURO 2012 and perhaps even make an impact at Brazil 2014

Acquafresca should never be allowed to wear a Italy shirt. He's rubbish! A poor mans Gilardino.:)

I like. Even if we have our asses handed to us against German and Argentina, it'll prove to be an incredible learning experience for some of these newbies.

I assume it refers to the story I have always heard about Romania being where a Roman legion settled down and installed itself as the Western Empire was collapsing.

There is also the clear similarity of the name and the mention of "in these veins still flows a Roman blood" in the Romanian anthem.

Not bad. Some people may complain about the fact that Zambrotta is back in the squad, but personally I don't mind having him there for the time being. He still looked pretty decent for us at the World Cup, and I think he brings the kind of experience and leadership that can benefit some of the newbies.

Although I'm happy to see Borriello get a much deserved call-up, I question the necessity of having all 3 of Gila, Borriello, and Pazz on the squad. Guess Quags has been struggling a bit with Juve?

My biggest gripe though is the fact that Pepe has somehow still managed to keep his spot on this squad! I guess Prandelli hasn't been convinced yet as to just how horrible this guy is?

Pretty solid squad overall. Prandelli needs to try someone else instead of Pepe.(Abate,Marchionni,Schelotto, anyone). I would've liked that Astori kid get a nod over Gastadello, who is pretty much an average player without much upside. Calling up Zambrotta at this point is a useless move in my view.

Well, cosnidering the fact that no one else has exactly been a show-stopper at the RB position, I can't really complain about Zambrotta being called up.

I would however like to see Maggio get another call up. I really don't know what Prandelli's deal is with him...

Exactly; Quags has looked invisible whenever he really takes the field. Del Neri has been starting and playing the 35-year-old Del Piero wayyy more often than Quagliarella. He's just too average.

I'm surprised Schletto didn't receive a call up.:(

Gastaldello? Hilarious, he's awful. Samp need two new CB"S. Gasta and Lucchini are C R A P.

not a bad list, i would like to see santon back but i guess he hasnt played many games yet

ROSSI by far is the best player right now, this year he already has 5 goals and few assists in like 8 games

Santon will have his day. He just needs consistent time at Inter. Since they've realized that Chivu is terrible at LB, I think Santon will play a lot more. Wait, Zanetti's coming back, so it's back to the bench, for Santon!:(:(

The current "no call list" is nowhere near as bad as the one we saw from the previous coach though. That to me is something to be happy about ;)
