Actually start EJ on Saturday and Altidore on Wednesday with the backups.

We don't want to endanger EJ's brand new position as starting striker on Fulham by using him on Wednesday.

For that matter, stick with the usuals on Saturday and experiment on Wednesday. Jermaine Jones can play both because he's suspended for his next Bundesliga match.

    ----------------Guzan----------------

    Lichaj---Onyewu---Parkhurst---Pearce

    Bedoya-----Jones----Edu-----Feilhaber

    -----------Altidore----Shea-----------

If we get any more late callups mix them into the Wednesday lineup.

Gooch is crucial to our back four. Boca will be phased out and is more a LB than CB now. Dolo let a goal get by him today, he will do likewise with the Nats. That's why Lichaj and Spector are his alternates. Pearce is besides Bornstein our only alternatives to Boca. Sad but true.

Davies is plain unready and was 5 months after his near-death.
Altidore is fine. He has lot's of competition up front at Villareal.
Without MLS players our roster is stacked with available YAs.
    This friendly roster is fine.

The team that Jaga posted was only the foreign based players. The following is the entire Polish roster called up against the US:

Goalkeepers: Artur Boruc (Fiorentina), Grzegorz Sandomierski (Jagiellonia Białystok), Przemysław Tytoń (Roda JC).

Defenders: Kamil Glik (Palermo), Łukasz Mierzejewski (Cracovia Kraków), Dariusz Pietrasiak (Polonia Warszawa), Łukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund), Grzegorz Wojtkowiak (Lech Poznań), Hubert Wołąkiewicz (Lechia Gdańsk), Michał Żewłakow (Ankaragücü).

Midfielders: Jakub Błaszczykowski (Borussia Dortmund), Grzegorz Bonin (Górnik Zabrze), Radosław Majewski (Nottingham Forest), Adam Matuszczyk (FC Köln) Adrian Mierzejewski (Polonia Warszawa), Rafał Murawski (Rubin Kazan), Ludovic Obraniak (Lille), Bartosz Salamon (Foggia).

Forwards: Kamil Grosicki (Jagiellonia Białystok), Robert Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund), Andrzej Niedzielan (Korona Kielce), Euzebiusz Smolarek (Polonia Warszawa).

It's as strong as Poland can muster right now with two very important exceptions: Boenish (Werder) is definitely our best defender and is out injured; Jelen (Auxerre) is arguably our best attacking player and is out injured as well. But the rest is as good as Poland can do at the moment.

Without Boenish the defense is terrible; expect Boruc to have his hands full.

The fact that you can't spell Altidore's name, and the fact that you are calling for Charlie Davies who is no where close to being able to play international football yet, totally discounts your opinion.

We should just throw you in the lunatic Bob haters bin so we can ignore you and your ilk.

All of his posts make perfect sense once you accept that Bob Bradley is the Antichrist.

Was there a simple way that you made this graphic? (I could make that in Illustrator, but that's way too much of a chore for posting.) I like...

thanks. i have a bunch of formation templates that i pre-made in msft word that i tinker with and convert to jpg in photoshop. i agree, illustrator would probably look more professional but i don't have the time.

msft word 2010 lets you combine shapes now and it really speeds up the process of moving positional dots with movement arrows without having to select multiple shapes for one player.

I watched most of the Fulham v West Ham match from the weekend and I thought EJ played well. He seems a little timid but he looked really good at jumping and bringing balls down for other players from the midfield. His speed also seemed to worry West Ham so it helped open space as they moved to cut him off.

That said hes miles better then Findley for a speedster player and I think he could work well with a tough physical forward like Altidore if he can head long balls down at his feet. Wouldnt mind seeing him and Altidore or even Demspey play up front for some minutes.

I honestly have no idea how Bob is going to line the guys up in this game. He has many different options and good talent in midfield. That being said Bob's history in friendlies is to ignore the other team's strenghts / weaknesses and simply work on getting the U.S. squad playing the way he wants. So I expect more of that. He also makes players without a previous USMNT track record to work hard to earn their spot. Ditto guys coming back from injury. Thus I'd bet on this against Poland:

    ---------Jozy-Clint
    Benny-Bradley-Edu-Holden
    Boca-Onyewu-Goodson-Dolo
    ----------Howard

I'd be all for wholesale changes in the 2nd half:

    -----------EJ-Clint
    Benny-Bradley-Jones-Bedoya
    Boca-Parkhurst-Spector-Lichaj
    -----------Guzan

I think you are reading the tea leaves as well as can be done right now. These are totally plausible lineups and 2nd half changes.

Isn't it a bit unfair to Dallas losing two of their players when they are in the midst of the battle for a playoff spot?

I mus admit I'm more excited over Shea and Lichaj than over Jones.

I'm probably more excited about Lichaj that anybody, based mostly on future potential.

Only a player trained in Europe could run cones with their eyes closed.
