I'm wondering if anyone has La Liga and/or Premier League ratings for ESPN2 so far this season. In particular I'm wondering what each league gets compared to the other. If anyone has any numbers from individual games or the season average for the Premier League and could post them that would be great.

ESPN2 only showed a handfull of games from the Premier League on Sat mornings , no La Liga or other to compare it to_Only MLS perhaps.

IIRC, ESPN2 has shown at least one La Liga match so far (Barca-Atletico Madrid). Wonder what ratings they got for that game.

Yes ESPN2 showed Barcelona-Atletico on a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks ago. I figure that the loss of viewship to NFL probably offsets La Liga having better timeslots. I've occasionally seen ratings for Premier League on ESPN2, but never for La Liga.

Correct. I think John Skipper hinted off-the-cuff last year that it was somewhere between 0.1-0.2. Otherwise, they've never announced anything and I'd be very surprised if the ratings were any higher than that (too much NFL and college basketball competition). Not even sure if La Liga draws well on ESPN Deportes, although not many games air at the same time as those of Liga Mexicana.

For EPL, it heavily depends on the teams involved, but last year was around 0.2-0.3. An okay for early on Saturday mornings, but the relative lack of commercial availabilities offsets that in terms of selling ads.

EPL ratings for the first week were released.

they are on EPLtalk..just go there and do a search for tv ratings and it will come up.

EPL ratings for week one on FSC and ESPN were up quite a bit from last year.

infact one of the EPL games were rated higher then any game from MLS this season.

Thanks for the link Blackhornet, that is exactly what I was looking for. So it seems that the Monday games are comparable, while the Sunday La Liga games aren't as highly viewed as the Monday Liga or any EPL games, probably mostly because of NASCAR.

I think probably more because they show so few, confirmed less than a week in advance. While obviously there's some NASCAR effect, I would think there'd be greater NFL effect.
There are some basic minimum similarities between the two sports called Football. This is not the case with auto racing.

I meant to say NFL and NASCAR, I guess I forgot to say the NFL part. :)

You are right though that NASCAR probably has less of an effect though. And La Liga scheduling games only 6 or so days in advance does too. Does anyone know why they leave the scheduling so late?
