    Great day for Vela.

Hopefully these recent performances push his name up the depth chart, the guy needs more playing time.

Lastly, is a green jersey his kryptonite?

maybe that's what he needed to get his head out of his azz? he is finally realizing he isnt el niño consentido anymore.

im glad he is putting away what should be put away 90% of the time. after this performance and the lack of depth right now, he should start against sunderland

First Mexican to ever score two goals in the Champions league. Hugo Sanchez scored two goals in the old European Cup in 1990. I would have put my money on Chicharito to reach this milestone first.

Por favor dejen de chingar la madre. It's already enough, you people keep taking the shit the media says, imagining what you think it is, and then repeating it as truth. And I'm talking in general terms, not you specifically

I hope this words from Wenger stops the hates from trying twist Vela's good moment to continue spitting their shit.

"[Carlos Vela] is an outstanding finisher who worked very hard this summer and he continues to improve. He is 21 years old and it is a fantastic quality."

Fabregas and Vela seem to be clicking great together. Hopefully this helps Vela get a lot more playing time. Kinda like when Gio and Vela were clicking together on the NT and playing well together.

Fabregas is dominating early on. Hope that continues too cause it will only help Vela.

Another thing I noticed is how confident Vela looked on his goals. He looked relaxed as hell, almost like it was a scrimage and he was just having fun.

I noticed this too. If there is anyone you want to sync with @Arsenal, it's Fabregas.

I'm sure when the game is on the line and nothing is working, we'll see Vela subbed in to see if these two can work their magic.

You're a joke. Those comments were not bashing vela in any way. A little sensative are we? Just because i dont wait in line with you to juggle his nuts on my chin doesn't make me a hater. I bought my arsenal jersey because of him. As a fan of his i have the rght to be annoyed cuando no me llene el ojo. This goes for vela or any other player/team i follow.

I guarantee i follow our legion abroad more than the average fan so dont be steppin with your bs.

He just needs more time on the field to gain solid continuity. If the green jersey was his kryptonite, Mexico probably wouldn't have won the 2005 Sub17.

    agreed.

Nothing wrong with having higher expectations for him. Mainly because we know he has the skill to do better. Anyone ever wonder why we aren't asking the same from Hugo Sanchez? (who played at Tigres, not sure where he is now)

Vela might have been training hard but the media going after him might have given him an extra motivation to do better.

Don't forget about the injuries he's had with Arsenal and El Tri. He had some disruption in his rythm because of those injuries, one of which was at SA 2010. It's great to see him capitalizing on the opportunities that Wenger is giving him and glad to see that he still believes in Vela.

Realistically, I'd like to see him become a super sup this year with Arsenal and maybe next season after the Copa American and Gold Cup, become a contender for a starting position.

Mosco that. It's very possible as Sunderland is a lower quality team.

It doesn't matter that he scored the goals when the games were decided, what matters is that his finishing is on point. With injuries Vela is making his point to Wenger that he is a 9 and not a winger. Hopefully, he gets more minutes up front so he will be ready for the Copa America.

If Vela performs as a 9 it will be interesting to see how he plays with El TRI.

Supporting striker or winger but not a 9.

It's good that Vela's is regaining the confidence to finish. That used to me his best asset, then it went away. Now he seems to be getting it back.

Carlos Vela has scored nastier goals in England than any other Mexican, only Gio's shot against Shakthar in the Uefa Cup came close.
