Re: Calling ALL Section 133 Season Ticket Holders!

Thanks Brother! We are doing our best to help bring the energy of the RIVER END down the sideline and around the stadium. We also want to give a shout out to the Tammany Saints in Section 101 who are trying to Defend the other Corner.

Sorry to hear about the arrests fellas, from what I hear you guys did nothing wrong, at least in my eyes if not those of the law. Keep it up! (The enthusiasm and away-fan-ribbing, not the arrests, lets all hope it's the last of those!)

We definitely don't condone violence and don't go looking for it. We made it our mission to defend the corner... but with words and chants. We are fine with the give and take verbally, but we will not tolerate violence. Most of the Away Support has been pure class, but one guy took it too far and sadly more of our guys paid the price for it. 5 of our men spent the night in Chester jail. We are doing our best to take the energy of the RIVER END and pass it around the stadium.

We need more of the ones wearing the kilts.

More of those types of kilts on some of the SoB's (like myself) would not look good in the stands.

Agreed....Though I wouldn't say embarrassing. I think it just shows that Viet really cares about everybody.

One of the guys from that section was talking about it in the SOB version of the fire thread.

Seemed one of the guys from the Fire's supporters and a union supporter had a verbal exchange and the fire supporter swung at the union supporter. A fight broke out and more of ours made it to the chester jail then fire supporters.

It is exactly what we needed to not have happen, and honestly, hopefully it will force the team to re-think where to put away supporters. My preference would be a sinking barge in the middle of the river.

This can be arranged. I saw a few women of questionable morals on my way into the stadium. They were missing a few teeth but some people are into that. I bet it would be affordable too.

There's a guy who lives out on Second Street who is always sitting out front on the porch. I call him "C" but he really reminds me of "Tron" from Chappelle's Show.

There's a different attractive young white girl there every time.

Haven't seen him out front in the past three weeks, though.

Do we get the supporters section discount? Can we order from our seats? How about group rates?

the guy is wearing a kilt too. it's jsut black and he has on black socks as well.
and if i can get enough people to commit to spending about $200 we have kilts and our own SoB tartan as well. and you can get "mini-kilts" for the women as well. (they arent' trashy, just shorter and more form fitting)

now that is a supporters section issue!

Re: "Supporters Section Issues" email from Veit - 9/10

I was talking to Mr. Veit in the concourse at half time on saturday when me and a friend went for a beer run. he was saying it's just because we all say it in unison. kind of got me to thinking, other than YSA and "come on union score a goal" we dont really have anything grossly profane. and when I chant things that are, it's usually only 12 or so people in my section chanting along with me. therefor for me it's not that big of a deal.

although I will still scream YSA, and will still scream f ucking mental, instead of dooping. but when it comes to our other self made chants, I don't think it'll be an issue

Isolated incident brought about by someone with too much to drink... so unless we ban beer sales these things will happen now and again. It was a minor scuffle blown out of proportion... 6 people shouldve been kicked out of PPL not arrested and put in jail overnight.

Thanks for putting things in perspective. OK, YSA may be/have been a problem because of how loud it can be, but the rest of the multiple-use chants are pretty G-rated, aside from Mental. I think people - myself included - were just getting a little worried that the River End was eventually going to hear or read something like, "Remember when we asked you guys to stand, sing loud, sing proud, and bring a European/South American atmosphere to PPL Park? Well, we're (the front office) not really into that whole thing anymore. Thanks for coming." Everything that has been neutered over the last few months sort of made me think things were headed in that direction, anyway.

The e-mail cleared a lot of things up for me. No mass chanting of YSA? No problem. I stopped getting my kicks from cursing when I was 8. The Union succeeding on and off the field is more important than me being able to take a flag directly into a stadium.

I still have a problem with what Veit is saying. I don't see the EPL UEFA ESPN FSC or any other channel or governing body going to Liverpool when they do the F*** off Chelsea Fc chant during games. How is it MLS and the channels can come to The Union and dictate what their fans say by threatining different sanctions on them? We the fans wether the ones in the RE or Main Stand are the heart of the team as are the players and the coach the front office needs to get off of it's high horse and let things go. Chants will change over the years. We will have ones with curses and we will have ones without. They need to trust us with what we are doing and deal with the running of the stadium and the team.

Also reading different things about Veit's career, if he was this great promoter as every article I have read about him states why is it that the majority of the teams he has worked for are now defunct?

Re: "Supporters Section Issues" email from Veit - 9/10

    It's really simple:
There is a demand for EPL matches on tv. Broadcasters would be stupid in England not to take what they can get.

Broadcasting soccer in the US is still way in its infancy. the audience is nothing compared to any of the 4 sports(no matter what in-stadium attendance says). Broadcasters can put much more pressure on the league and teams, because they could just as easily fill that time space with syndicated poker and get similar ratings
