So with everybody available for Saturday's game against Philadephia (except Segares) who starts. If CDLC goes with his rotating forwards, then McBride will get the start with Castillo. With Pappa back does he get the start, I'd think so. If Pappa does get the start who sits probably Thorrington. What if CDLC tries something like this Nyarko came in this league as a forward let's use him as a forward against Philadelphia.

    [LINEUP-4-4-2]Castillo,Nyarko,Pappa,Ljungberg,Pause,Thorrington,Krol,Conde,Brown,Kinney/Robinson,Johnson[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

If I see Umanzor or Banner playing LB, that's it for Krol as a FIRE player.
If Brown needs a day off then put Robinson in the middle and have Kinney at RB.

by the way what is up with the "we love Johnson chant"? I do not think we can go forward with that :p

More of a 4-2-3-1 with Pappa and Pause as DCM.

    Re: GAME #22 FIRE vs. Philadelphia 9/11/10 5:00pm [R]

    Because is Pappa or:
    Nery
Freddie (Maybe you want him as a CM/CDM)
    Patrick

Nery will not play as a striker, De los Cobos likes to play with one Striker so that means McBride or John up top.

So 5 midfielders right you pick:

    1. Pappa (AM)
    2. Castillo (second forward)
    3. Ljungberg (AM)
    4. Nyarko (second froward)
    5. Pause (CDM)
    6. Thorrington (RM/CM)

I guess that more specific I am talking a 4-1-4-1

Pause or Thor as CDM and Pappa (or Ljungberg) as a CM that is free to go forward but has defensive responsabilities.

That or leave on the bench one of the following:
    Nery
    Patrick
    Marco
    or Freddie

The best attacking mid is not the Anchor. Pause is the anchor and sometimes Thor but not at the same time.

    Freddy is the playmaker.

Freddy with Logan in the middle,
Patrick on the left, Pappa on right, John and Castillo up top.

hopefully, Krysztof is back in the squad.

Thorrington's status for Saturday is apparently up in the air at this point and Marco Pappa may also miss the match due to a toe injury.

These games are slowly moving from being figuratively "must win" to being literally "must win."

We aren't totally out of it if we draw this next game, but we'll be pretty much setting up a situation where we'll need to win 5 of 7 to finish the year to have a chance.

The MLS Injury Report is saying that the Fire have no injuries to be reported (as of Sept 7th). The preview on the Union site is saying Thorrington is out, Pappa and McBride are doubtful. Damn, would really love to see BMcB play live and in-person, especially considering his retirement announcement.

Any idea why the injury status change? Did something happen the other night versus TFC-eh?

So we went from everybody being available (except Segares suspense), to possibly three more out for the Philly game.

    Chicago

OUT: MF John Thorrington (R hamstring strain); DOUBTFUL: MF Marco Pappa (R hamstring tightness); FW Brian McBride (L quad contusion)

Let's hope it doesn't take Thorrington 5 months to recover for his injury.

Come on Pappa get better, I don't want to ever see Banner out there again.

So if they can't go, we will see Banner in the starting 11 again (God help us). I hope CDLC realizes that Banner is useless and start somebody else, I'd take Carr or Umanzor over Banner.

    [LINEUP-4-4-2]John,Castillo,Banner,Ljungberg,Pause,Nyarko,Krol,Conde,Brown/Robinson,Kinney/Robinson,Johnson[/LINEUP-4-4-2]

I'm hoping, praying, begging for a 2-1 WIN!!!!, but I think this game will end with a 1-1 tie!!!!!!
