This one is on FSC. Expect to see Big Brad and Tim starting with the other two Yanks on the bench.

As expected, Friedel and Howard start with Guzan and Lichaj on the bench.

Bad news for Villa. Stephen Ireland injured himself while warming up and is being replaced by Nigel Reo-Coker.

Not much, if anything tim could have done about the shot. He was hung out to dry.

I assume I'm not the only one who has been disappointed by FSC's (in HD) technical issues this weekend?

That clicking noise coming through their broadcast was about to drive me apeshit.

Tim just made really two nice saves, espcially the second recovery.

Very nice save from Brad. Shouldn't have had to make it, as it looked like there was an Everton handball in the buildup.

Did they just say Albrighton went to Dartmouth? That's random.

I imagine they said he's from Tamworth, though I haven't been paying much attention to the commentary this half.

Everton has had the ball more but Villa have had 2 really great chances to get a 2nd goal. Howard has kept them in it with a couple of great saves.

Everton piling on the pressure and Villa can't clear the ball. They haven't put a shot on frame in this pressure, and it finally ends with a header over the bar.

Looks like Eric is coming on. His first PL appearance.

    Edit: Ok, maybe not.

Everton has an excellent team that is capable of some great build up play, they just don't have enough end product at the moment. Who knows if Saha or Beckford will step up- maybe they need to give Yakubu a chance.

It'll be a sad day when Big Brad retires:

Big Brad: I cannot self-terminate. You must lower me into the steel.

    Little Brad: NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Argh. Frustrating result from an Everton standpoint, they completely dominated the match and deserved something out of it. Fair play to Villa, they came out and put everything into getting the points. Both teams were worthy today. (I could go on and on about what Everton needs to do, what needs to change, but I won't.)

On topic: both Timmy and Brad were ace. I'd give Friedel MOTM honors.

For Everton: Distin, Pienaar, Baines, Coleman were all on the top of their game.
