Bad news for Villa. Stephen Ireland injured himself while warming up and is being replaced by Nigel Reo-Coker.
I assume I'm not the only one who has been disappointed by FSC's (in HD) technical issues this weekend?
Very nice save from Brad. Shouldn't have had to make it, as it looked like there was an Everton handball in the buildup.
I imagine they said he's from Tamworth, though I haven't been paying much attention to the commentary this half.
Everton has had the ball more but Villa have had 2 really great chances to get a 2nd goal. Howard has kept them in it with a couple of great saves.
Everton piling on the pressure and Villa can't clear the ball. They haven't put a shot on frame in this pressure, and it finally ends with a header over the bar.
Everton has an excellent team that is capable of some great build up play, they just don't have enough end product at the moment. Who knows if Saha or Beckford will step up- maybe they need to give Yakubu a chance.
It'll be a sad day when Big Brad retires: Big Brad: I cannot self-terminate. You must lower me into the steel. Little Brad: NOOOOOOOOOOO!
Argh. Frustrating result from an Everton standpoint, they completely dominated the match and deserved something out of it. Fair play to Villa, they came out and put everything into getting the points. Both teams were worthy today. (I could go on and on about what Everton needs to do, what needs to change, but I won't.) On topic: both Timmy and Brad were ace. I'd give Friedel MOTM honors. For Everton: Distin, Pienaar, Baines, Coleman were all on the top of their game.
