Hmm maybe the adaptive video is for live matches only and the recorded matches get downsampled video to save space? I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I wake up early to watch Spurs vs Stoke City...
trying to get into foxsoccer.tv to sign up for the trial, and watch spurs/stoke...seems like the site is running real slow, not able to get to the sign in page anyone having the same problems this morning?
This site is a joke. They have none of the pages ready -- not a stream problem, just that a ton of their pages are down. I logged out thinking it might solve the problem to get out and back in, and now I can't even log back in. This is a disaster. I'd say they'll probably have to extend their free trial, but considering how foolish they've already looked, I doubt even that will happen.
If someone figures out how to make it work, post it on here please.. I'd appreciate it. I found the link for the game I wanted when I clicked on "Upcoming" but the video that pops up just shows a circle that spins around forever. Sigh..
Anyone else had problems getting logged on to FoxSoccer.tv this morning. If this is going to be how the service is then then can think again if they think I'm paying for this junk after the free trail ends. Yes I see, these guys are a joke.
It took a while but I finally got logged in but now none of the streams work. Hell, their home page is now blank.
You guys who can get to the endlessly spinning wheel are lucky! Many can't even log-in. Even when I was logged in, I only got to an error page. Terrible service.
I had no problem with the Coventry/Derby match, but can not log on now either. The old i-Setanta service was much more reliable and a better product.
Well, I can log in now and don't get an error page. But the Stoke/Spurs match page is ... blank. Baby steps, I guess. Maybe we can actually watch games by October.
I'm in now and have West Brom v Sunderland up, it's half time obviously, the streams are jumpy and keep pausing for a milli-second. There's better stuff available for free out there (not legal but hey ho) $15 a month for this crap, hahahahah.
Yup, confirmed. Replay matches are non-adaptive and even at high look like crap, while live matches are adaptive and are much closer to HD. Another thing they don't bother telling you when you sign up. Even if the replays weren't just 45-minute excerpts, this ruins them. Sigh.
And perhaps we shouldn't put an image of a player celebrating a goal as the placeholder on the menu of replays....
I signed up for the trial Sunday. Caught the last of the Newcastle vs Villa match. Impressed with the live quality. I have a PC connected to my flatscreen TV and have to say the quality on the TV was better than DirectTV SD feed ever were. Pissed that Fulham vs United was not live. Ended up watching on a shite sopcast feed. Anyone know how they determine what matches they will show live?
If a match is live on ESPN or FSC it won't be on foxsoccer.tv. FS+ live matches are on foxsoccer.tv, since not every cable/satellite provider has FS+.
Is this a hard and fast rule? I know it's the case sometimes, but for this weekend Spurs v Wigan is listed on both FSC and Foxsoccer.tv
Based on how the rollout is going, I would bet this is a screwup by foxsoccer.tv, and that it won't actually be shown live on the website. But at this point, who knows?
Has this always been the case? I feel like we're getting less from them now that they have the new site in place.
