    I'm officially stunned.

    And very, very pleased.

Congrats Neil. I know that had to be especially satisfying.

It will be interesting to see if they can keep it up. Kind of a fun team to watch.

    AMAZING.

    Who cares what happens now.

Oh and DG you were right, it was Alex Baptiste who scored the 4th goal not GTF!

Well, that was patently ridiculous. :) I really enjoyed rooting for Reading in the first year they came up because they played with a joy and reckless abandon that was hard to match, and it looks like Blackpool may have the same sort of fire. For now, at least, you're top of the table. Congrats. :)

Thing is that is how we played last year. But of course with the PL being a lot more high profile we will not get noticed a lot more!

It is exciting to watch as Ollie has no intention of simply trying to defend leads if the team takes the lead. Attack is the best form of defence! Plus he wants to play passing football and not typical English hoofball.

    Attendance was 16,152.

And 4,200 Pool fans totally out-sung the home support, many of whom left after the 4th goal went in.

Can't wait to watch it all again on Sky Sports News "Football First" show - when the whole game will be shown.

It will also feature on the BBC "Match Of The Day" show with Gary Lineker and the Nobber supporting Mark Lawrenson who hates us. But he (Lawrenson) will now have to talk about us and do his best to praise us, if he can through gritted teeth. Tough luck. With it being quite clearly the result of the day, I would hope the BBC make it the featured game.

The media coverage of yesterday for a club like Blackpool has been remarkable and unprecendeted. New York Post, Washington Post CBC in Canada, media in Australia, South Africa, Spain - all over. And all talking about Blackpool. We even made the main national news on ITV and BBC, something we never do.

There was one article saying about how every single pundit has had us finishing bottom of the PL in 20th place this season and that we would start in 20th, and never once go any higher - and then adding that after game one, the only thing keeping the Seasiders from top spot are the current champions of England, and of course for two glorious hours Blackpool were top of the Premier League!!!!

There are far, far too many links to post but this one from the Irish Independent I like.

This I like because the writer clearly understand the way Blackpool play. He mentions Ian Evatt but all the defenders are encouraged to attack. Bapstiste yesterday for instance scored one (though it was clearly a "cross-shot" and could easily have had two goals.

And of course, a big welcome back for the ref Mark Halsey on his return to the PL. Good to see him back and recovered.

Ahh...what a day in the Premier League eh?

Unfortunately, I couldn't watch a single moment of the match, but my very good friend was sending me text messages to update. I also was using the fantabulous BlackBerry app ScoreMobile FC to keep up on the prem, and more specifically Blackpool.

My Arsenal couldn't eek out a win and next week I'll be cutting myself in twain during the match...which I expect to be on FSC...and if not, I'll be at the desktop watching, while posting about it on my laptop! (And having the stats open on my BlackBerry!)

Unfortunately, didn't go so good for my boys AC St. Louis, but hey...for the weekend my teams were 1-1-2 (Pool, AC St. Louis, Arsenal, New York Red Bulls; Chivas didn't play.)

My Blackpool ranting from last week if you didn't see it!

I know so many people have picked Pool to just take the 90 Million pounds and run, but I think they're not going anywhere this year.

    I don't know!

    :)

I think I'm rooting for Pool because I believe Arsenal will win anyway...and honestly...they don't need the early season win as much as Pool does.
