Both young American strikers made their respective benches for the season opener. Game starts at 12:15 and is on Fox Soccer Plus.
Doyle's story is not quite as amazing as Demerit's, but incredible nonetheless. 18 year old kid was coming over for training/trial less than a month ago, and now on the bench with 2 year contract, and may play before 40,000 vs. Leeds in the home opener? Fairy-tale stuff. Clough has been around. Surely he is seeing something very special in the kid.
Doyles pops played indoor for a long and solid career...was a big player for the KC Comets...comes from the Dallas Texans system that produced Clint and several other great players... was a montster in spring ball for Creighton but caught the eye of Nigel Clough in a 2 week training session (was't even a trial in the beginning I believe just like an exchange student type thing.... Couple months later he sneaks a work permit in the nick of time and is on the bench for a hugh rivalry opener... fairytale stuff... Has an Irish passport... one to keep an eye on...
I just tuned in, but it's 2-1 in favor of Derby County now in the 39th minute. I don't know if either Grella or Doyle are playing, but I haven't heard either name mentioned yet.
It's still the first half. Will anybody send me a link to a reliable stream? Every one I've attempted thus far has been inadequate.
I pm'd you Duke. Don't know how it works 'cause it's the first time I've sent one, so just making sure you got it.
Leeds and Derby refreshing their backline and midfield respectively. Hopefully, they'll throw in some strikers (the american kind) in the last ten.
UNREAL saves by little Schmeichel. Wild. Seriously, he looked like his dad there, 2 absolutely amazing saves.
